Get Physical Radio by Saqib

Denis Horvat is a Copenhagen-based DJ and producer known for his deep, melodic sound and analog-driven productions, whose distinctive style has earned him a respected place in the underground electronic music scene. His career has been marked by releases on some of the scene’s most respected labels, including Innervisions, Afterlife, and Diynamic.

Born to Croatian parents in Frederiksvaerk, northwest of Copenhagen, Horvat grew up surrounded by music. His father’s 1980s record collection—featuring artists like Depeche Mode, Billy Idol, Blondie, and Kiss—shaped his early influences, while discovering The Prodigy at age 10 sparked his lasting passion for electronic music. A self-taught producer with roots as a drummer, Horvat built his sound around analog studio gear, creating the textured and emotional style he describes as “synthesizer techno.”

Beyond his solo work, Horvat launched the alias Tlak, a project that explores different sonic directions and has led to releases on labels such as Sum Over Histories and Objektivity.

As a DJ, Horvat is known for his meticulously crafted sets that blend deep house, techno, and melodic elements. He has performed at prominent venues and festivals worldwide, sharing stages with artists such as Âme, Dixon, and Maceo Plex.

In addition to his productions and performances, Horvat founded his own label, Vokabularium, further contributing to the evolution of the electronic music landscape.
