Yes I am, in fact, alive. As you can tell the whole beat making thing was a phase in high school but now I'm back. The only difference is that I'm learning more about music, using FL Studio and not just smashing a bunch of free samples together in a DAW I don't remember the name of then calling them my own beat (although some weren't half bad). So yeah, this is me experimenting for the first time in years. Technically it's just a few basic chords, a high hat, some heavy bass, one effect and audio samples from Red Dead Redemption 2 but I think it's a solid intro back into this hobby.

Well This Was Good At One Point Until I Messed Up The Melody & Rhythm

I tried to use the last audio sample again and it came out alright. I'm starting to realize that I make the core beat before taking into account any samples I may use, so I'll have to fix that habit from now on. Otherwise this was just another practice track. I'm getting a good workflow when it comes to basic melodies, rhythms and mixing. I'm hoping to have a well produced beat after a few more weeks of practice.

Surviving Is Winning

Just another attempt at this hobby. I decided to test every plugin FL Studio offered and found a great synth. Hopefully, if I stick with this, I'll produce a full version of this beat - I think it has a lot of potential. Plus this was my first time implementing sub-bass, a few effects and extra percussion. Until then, though, the save will be locked until I purchase a license but I'll continue to practice.
