SUNANDBASS Recordings proudly presents its next release: the Funny How EP by BCee. Following his Shelter EP, we are delighted to share this "barrel of laughs" from our close friend. This EP combines BCee's humorous spirit with soul-infused, energetic beats, making it the perfect remedy to lift your spirits and chase away those Sardinian blues.

Steve BCee has been a close friend and part of the SUNANDBASS family for years. A regular in Sardinia with his Spearhead imprint, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, he returns with a record that explores the many shades of his signature sound while keeping things fresh and engaging.

The title track, ‘Funny How’, is a soulful, sample-driven roller that transports you straight to La Cinta. Next up, ‘Shiny Happy Jungle’ delivers exactly what the name promises, an energetic, break-heavy floor-filler. ‘Flush’ brings a modern twist, striking the perfect balance between musicality and upbeat dance energy. Closing the EP, ‘Nobody But You’ is a soulful, melancholy anthem that pulls at the heartstrings, showing BCee’s ability to navigate the full spectrum of emotion.

Finally out is this eagerly-awaited release of SUNANDBASS Recordings, Hits Me In Waves EP by Mark System. Friends and close members of the SAB family know it's been brewing for the last decade, appearing in bits in aftermovies and we are beyond excited to now share it with the world.

‘Hits Me In Waves’ unveils three currents at once, the surging pull of inspiration, the sweep of new love, and the beautiful embrace of La Cinta’s waters, all washing over in unison. Thus, each track of the EP explores a wide range of emotions and moods, expressed in multiple styles within drum & bass; the lead single ‘On An Island’, sets the tone with unmatched sound design, rich musical elements, and raw, uncompromising production. Next comes ‘Point Of Reference’, built for the dancefloor and eternally young in its refined appeal. ‘Celebration’ follows, a powerful track that ties the listening journey together, pairing heavy low-end weight with slick musicality to keep it both melodic and full of energy. ‘Where’s The Dog’ stands out for its playability and tough bass synthesis, making it the hardest-hitting cut on the record. As we get ready for our return to Sardinia this week, we’re proud to present this month’s SUNANDBASS podcast from Blindside, featuring a special Futures Past mix.

This selection is a nod to the legendary mixes from Fabio for Muzik MasterS, Doc Scott and LTJ Bukem for Mixmag, all of which had a huge influence on Dan’s journey. From starting Breakthru events, to working on Soul:r and now Space Cadet, we’re thrilled to welcome Blindside back to the Podcast.

LSB steps up to mix SUNANDBASS Podcast #42, showcasing the sound that has seen him catapulting through 2015.

Having released over 100 tracks and remixes over 4 albums, and countless other releases since his debut in 2002, it’s fair to say that BCee has made a huge contribution to the Drum & Bass scene. 

Alongside this epic body of work, his label Spearhead continues to grow from strength to strength, having bought artists such as SPY, Technimatic, Hybrid Minds and LSB, amongst countless others to the fore. 

BCee brings something a bit special to this month’s SUNANDBASS Podcast, with a mix of only his music – whether his originals, remixes of his tracks or tracks that he has remixed. I want to send a heartfelt thank you to all the artists who stepped up on the night and made it an absolutely fabulous tribute to him and his music... and to you the Sun and Bass crew/ravers thank you for joining us and making every moment memorable we really raised the roof for Spirit.

Etherwood has gone and stitched us a GOOOWWJOOOS liquid patchwork this month. You simply cant beat a bit of cockle warming liquid when the sun is shining, and is he not just one of the best!?

In his own words "I just got the decks out and pictured the sun setting at La Cinta. I could practically taste the Ichnusa". Here here Woody.

We hope this 60 minute dreamscape can go someway to taking you to a moment just like that.
