“African Train” is a fascinating music trip produced by two well known DJs in Mozambique, Mr Hands & Rude, featuring the strong and passionate voice of Rhodalia Silvestre, also from Mozambique. You may want to start with the organic interpretation by Navaa, with its smooth harmonies and smart groove, which make you dream with open eyes. Then go to the original mix, for a plain afro groove and stunning afro sounds, yet with organic touches. The vocal will walk you through the history behind the song, the infamous destiny of many African mines’ workers, “deep down in the belly of the earth .. conscripted to come and work on contract in the gold and mineral mines of Johannesburg”. You can now go to the last version which completes this release, by Argento Dust. It gets definitely clubby with a strong synth and a dark and threatening atmosphere. Enjoy the trip!

Enoo Napa is the craftsman who made this fantastic Ep that has an aggressive afro house mood and the right dark touch. 'Elements Ep' is an interesting release that contains 3 deadly tracks that will not disappoint the expectations of your dancefloor.
'Monsters & Aliens' is a very suggestive and hypnotic track. The intro with percussive base becomes terrifying after the first minute thanks to the appearance of a very impressive electronic synth. The central break is a whirlwind that will hold everything in suspense and then start again giving off unrivaled power.
'They Are Coming' has a fluid rhythm, surrounded by a low heat and particular melodies of electronic synths. The track is a constant crescendo and psychedelic evolutions. A majestic track.
'Through Time & Space' has a much more sunny pace and more open sounds. The percussion accompany everything in a refined but not too soft. Also here are some hints of electronic synths. The melody of strings that enters with arrogance in the piece gives thickness and greatness to the whole complex. The second half is characterized by a very sharp and effective lap of the piano. This package can not miss in your repertoire, the dancefloor will thank you.

Crescent Von Croon (CVC) graces us with a signature musical work, crafted in her unique singing style. CVC is the pseudonym of poet/vocalist Simangele Khanyile. Originally from Richards Bay, she now resides in Durban where she is currently pursuing her career as an artist.

Abantu Betshe is the first musical work in which CVC collaborates with Saint Evo. It is an ode to those whom CVC refers to as the “Rock People”. This is a song that celebrates the courageous folk who are resilient in the face of hardship.

Diamond Dealer has been making waves in the South African house music scene, whether on
decks or in the studio, and we've had our eye on him for a while now. For his debut on MoBlack
Records, the DJ from Bloemfontein pays tribute to the fateful Johannesburg suburb, with
remixes by Durban pride Enoo Napa and Mpumalanga's crowd pleasing wonder, Caiiro. Marking
66 years since the demise of Sophiatown, and 15th year since the restoration of its name, the
Kimberley born producer builds upon the lyrics of Strike David Vilakazi's outwardly upbeat,
anti-Apartheid protest anthem that helped define the beat of a burgeoning defiance. Sang by
none other than the late legend, Dorothy Masuka, excerpted from her cover of 'Meadowlands,
originally sung by Nancy Jacobs and Her Sisters from the midst of displacement and steadfast
resistance against it, the lyrics at the heart of this Sophiatown Tribute harness pain from a
struggle against reality to concoct the remedy for healing through sound.
Sophiatown Tribute is a vibrant melange of unique elements, rife with rich African sounds, tribal
groove, and forward-thinking digital nuances. Coddling Dorothy Masuka's verses in moist sonic
undulations, the original mix exudes a certain dampness, soaking emotions in harmonic
buoyance. Enoo Napa's complex artistic finesse casts an elegant dub remix of the Tribute. Dark
afro tech, looming ambience and synth-based melodics drive this sublime tour de force that has
us itching for a gleam off a strobe light on a pitch black dancefloor at wee hours of the night.
Masuka's vocals, though curtailed, remain prominent and affective, emitting ample sentiment to
ravel time and get lost in its rhythm. Caiiro yields his unique, textured dub re-work, juxtaposing
cross-grained percussion with electronic tweaks on an acidic incline. Searing hi-hats flow with
inquisitive acoustics that waft Dorothy Masuka's protracted vocals in fleeting melodies and a
simple rhythm that seems to make everything feel right. Wrapping up the EP, an Instrumental
Mix makes sacred space out of the absence of vocals. Dorothy Masuka might no longer be
speaking, but we feel her. A radio edit completes the series.
