We sat down with Manuel Verolini to catch up and dive in a bit deeper!

Sunday Cafe : How did you get started as a DJ, and what led you to pursue this career path?

MV : The DJ thing started thanks to the passion I have for music and to my father (also a DJ) who transmitted everything to me. 

SC : What inspires your music, and what message do you hope to convey through your DJ sets?

MV : My music comes from the influence of my father and from my personal research, this is because I want to show who I am through these sounds... my genre is house, specifically disco, soul, funk, afro.

SC : Can you talk about your creative process when putting together a DJ mix? How do you choose the tracks and create a cohesive flow?

MV : My creative process is free but defined so many times I already know which tracks to put and what I want to convey through musical vibrations, so the choice of the track goes depending on what I want to convey to the audience that follows and hears me.

SC : Your music often incorporates elements of positivity, love, and good vibes. Can you tell us more about why these themes are important to you, and how you hope your music affects your audience?

MV : Let's say that seeing a person, who during one of my DJ sets, is unhappy I feel a little defeated because I feel I have not transmitted what I wanted. Hence my obbettivo, that is to make a person smile through what I propose, because music must convey happiness and promote union between people.

SC : Maintaining health and balance is important for any artist. How do you manage to balance your DJ career with other aspects of your life, and what advice would you give to other artists struggling with this balance?

MV : I manage to balance everything I do in my life through determination, desire and passion that involves me in things.... Because I think that things are either done 100 or not done. My advice is that people who embark on this path should only have passion and desire that always push them to look for themselves through music.... otherwise there will always be something that will hinder them.

In history, music has dictated fashions and social messages that have always involved it in social change... I incorporate it because I do not bend to the musical fashions of the time but I try to find the originality for the inclusion of more people.

SC : As an artist, what are your future plans and goals? Any upcoming projects or collaborations that you can share with us?

MV : As an artist I have the goal of going on my way trying to convince more and more people with my sound also through collaborations or projects (which for now are not there) that embrace my philosophy of music... Then I definitely don't want to stop at the surface but study music more and more deeply in order to bring out more and more my musical identity.

Tim Deluxe - It Just Won't Do (The Âlchemyst Edit) [FREE DL]

As a tribute to my good friend, Dimitri From Paris (dfp), here's something that few have heard in its entirety and many would like! A few years ago, I gave a copy of this great cut from disco legends Gary's Gang to Dim (Dim &amp; I have been trading music with each other for many years). Little that I knew that he would like the edit so much, that he featured it on his great mix compilation, Return To The Playboy Mansion. To say that it was an honor to have my edit on the compilation was an understatement! There was some talk about releasing the edit, but it never materialized.
And at that time, the great Danny Krivit had released his edit of the song. So, alone it sat in the Underdog Edit archives, hoping one day it will be heard. Well, today's the day! Enjoy!
And to Dim, thank you for all the great music over the years and the great friendship that I will always cherish. Bonne Journée!
