"Another special release on Chrom: the first EP of our own label manager Pedro Mercado since the pandemic started! With this old school acid inspired collab called "Our Revolution" together with Phi-Phi, a living legend in Belgium, Pedro realises one of his childhood dreams.

French DJ and producer Phi-Phi played a key role in developing and popularizing the progressive house sound during the 90's. You can for sure say that he is one of the pioneers and founders of the electronic scene in Belgium with lots of residencies in legendary Belgian clubs where he played together with DJ's like Paul van Dyk, John Digweed, Danny Howells, Anthony Pappa, Sasha, Laurent Garnier, Oliver Lieb,... Phi-Phi is known for his excellent DJ mixing skills and storytelling sets. Production wise his long-time cohort with Philippe Van Mullem (R.I.P.) resulted in projects such as, Honey C, UNA, Innertales and Quadran. Phi-Phi had also some collaborations with Gregory Dewindt (Greg D), The Mackenzie, Roddy Reynaert and Airwave. All the tunes became Belgian or even European club hits. Nowadays Phi-Phi is mainly teaming up with Manu Riga and producing for himself a proper sound of quality melodic progressive electronic music. So needless to say that we are more than happy that Phi-Phi teamed up with our own label manager Pedro Mercado for this special collab on Chrom.

The first remixer comes out of Italy: nobody less then Christian Monique who has releases on labels such as The Soundgarden, Black Hole Recordings, Balkan Connection,... and is supported by big artists such as Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Adriatique, Guy J, Petar Dundov, and many more. Christian turns the original into a true progressive house anthem."

About the artist
For the love of family connections on the dance floor, it always drives me from the small bubble of south German city Konstanz to more open waters. East Germany was where I first found them. At that time I worked at the only festival taking place in Europe in 2020, the Wilde Möhre Festival. My sight of coexistence of the outside world and small islands where similar minded people gather got centered. We came together to celebrate the melancholic or dystopian feeling we all carry inside. For me this always was the ultimate feeling of freedom and calmness and I aspired to create that feeling for the past seven years of my journey into making music. Feel the drive and power coming from my sound while I make the fetch happen from now till the end of time. A quotation from Goethes Faust: „Oh Nick who gave you this power? You could fetch me at this midnight hour.“ "Nick Fetcher is a versatile artist: besides working as a DJ, producer and label owner, he is constantly on the hunt for a new movement to start or an event to play. His sound range spirals between Progressive House, Melodic Techno and Trance. No matter if he’s producing or djing, his wave fetches anybody. Nicks unique sound developed over the last 8 years and is evolving to this day. Nick regularly gets influenced by his surroundings. Moving to Mannheim and falling in love with its brutalist architecture has brought him one of his latest inspirations such as the "Alien" or "Finding Water on the Moon". While playing live Nick often enters a tunnel vision where he dissociates and is only living for the music in that very moment. The audience is most likely to feel his dedication and they feed off it.

I felt captivated by an enchanting smile with magnetic energy that seemed like a beacon drawing me in. An inexplicable pull towards the mysterious force that connected our paths. In the understanding that life's tapestry is woven with threads of unpredictability we embarked on a journey of self-discovery, navigating the delicate balance between connection and solitude.

The enchantment of our initial connection morphed into a complex web of emotions and experiences. We navigated the highs and lows, weaving our own narrative into the unpredictable fabric of life. Life’s demands pulled us in different directions, and the bustling city that once felt like our playground became a labyrinth of challenges. The magnetic force that had drawn us together seemed to weaken despite our efforts to maintain the delicate balance. The neon lights that once illuminated our shared adventures now cast long shadows of uncertainty. 

Yet, amidst the challenges and uncertainties, a new found sense of liberation emerged. Each step away from a familiar one became a stride towards personal growth and self-realization. In solitude I discovered the strength to navigate unfamiliar terrain. With life demands, which had once threatened to pull us apart, became the catalyst for individual resilience and adaptation.

With a heavy heart and a deep sense of gratitude for the moments we had shared, I embraced the beginning of a new chapter. Life, much like the ever-changing urban landscape of the city, is a journey of beginnings and endings with threads of unpredictability that can lead to new adventures. 

Even if they mean letting go of the love that once felt inseparable.
