I have been a musician now for a couple decades. I started off in high school playing drums for local bands. In my younger adult life, I played rhythm guitar and sang supporting vocals in two Christian praise bands. While in those bands, I traveled throughout Southern California playing at different congregations and outdoor events. I began dabbling in songwriting about a decade ago, writing a song or two a year. About three years ago, my songwriting took on a larger role in my life when I purchased a Spire Studio recorder by Izotope.  With the Spire Studio at my side, I really started to dive in. I have no formal musical or audio recording training so it’s been a challenging but rewarding road for me. Songs a decade old (which I thought were done and written) suddenly sprung to life as I began to write and record the different parts. Writing bass lines, and drums, and lead guitar, and background vocals for my songs has been such a joy for me and has really helped me grow as a musician. The Spire Studio doesn’t have the capabilities for post-production, and I don’t use a DAW (digital audio workstation) yet, so all the tracks are basically live and raw. As of yet, I’m a solo artist so every drum beat, every vocal note, and every guitar strum/pluck was written and recorded by me, though I would welcome collaboration if I found the right musician(s). It’s amazing how accessible the writing process has now become. So far, the recordings don’t sound studio quality, but I’m okay with that. For now I’m just enjoying expanding as an artist and now (with the Spire Studio) I can express the creativity previously trapped inside me. I look forward to my growth and am proud of the works I’ve been able to produce. Thanks for listening!
