In her single "DETOX" she speaks about ridding her environment of toxic relationships & behaviors that were becoming detrimental to her mental health and as well as her future. With this single suni has started a #DETOXDIALOGUE to tell her truths as well as other creatives, artist, etc. to add to the conversation of mental health in the hip hop community. suni mf dedicates this release to her late sister Africa L. Brice who committed suicide while studying to become a psychiatrist 2001.

Suni MF releases a new song in honor of her late dog "Lil Suni" who was named after Suni MF. Suni decided to release this tribute song in honor of a few losses she suffered in Jenuary from her dog, to her close friend/local rapper Naj Murph, and family members.

"January was a month of serious losses for me, I lost my dog & a few of my dawgs (friends). Originally I wasn't going to release the song, it was something just for me. After I joined a grieving group on FB I knew this song would help other people heal from their personal losses."
