Herein are nine tracks assembled from the ground up in line with our collective vision of what glitch.cool has to offer the electronic music community. Much like how our first compilation was assembled entirely from sounds in our debut sample pack, Glitch With Friends Compilation Vol. 2 follows suit with samples from our Glitch With Friends Samples Vol. 2 pack released in April 2020. Much like the original samples themselves, this music is free to download for everyone and intended to be enjoyed by all who want it.

These tracks range from ethereal to intense, from dancefloor banger to cerebral abstraction, yet all are representative of the type of sound design oriented sonic aesthetic we want to see more of in this world. A number of familiar faces return from the previous compilation, and a couple of newer names are also present. Each of these artists contributed a diverse set of sounds for the sample pack, and in turn each mangled, flipped, and churned the pack into a sonic beauty of their own creation. We hope that you enjoy listening to these tracks as much as we enjoyed putting them all together.

@skarjala is one of the remaining enigmas emergent from the madcap digital communes of North American experimental bass. I found the track bllo, likely around this time last year. It was an obscure blitzkrieg, fusillade busyness operating from a cracked blueprint of drum & bass. It was bewildering and intoxicating and signified something illimitable. Everything with which skarjala has been associated in the months that followed inhered the same combination of mystery and inexplicability. His is a sonics of abandon. Skittering expressivity crammed into any corner a break would allow, otiose chordal capabilities evincing a knowledge of a classical heritage. Yet with a violent emotionality that intimates not obstreperous talent only, but legitimate sensitivity, thoughtfulness, a willingness to discourse and project worlds out a music mixed of intertextual memory and the scintillae of dreams.

His Realist mix takes this twain destructivity and affect up a notch. No-kilter muzak from Altissia, acidic swing, cel-shade tripped-hop out the future-medievalism of a game like Transistor. These comparisons are only halfways useful. It is a mix that recalls video games. Their capacity to shift in instants, envision via medium places that are not. But it is more so a stratigraphy of an electronic music that did not exist. In the sense that only in the furnace of a recent and outsider experimentation is the breakneck rulelessness present in this mix possible. Deconstruction without declaration. A crazed bricolage that in its virtuosic nausea is deliberately visionary. Because there is nothing non-present here... avant-club, post-ambient, cored hyperglitch driven to a centre where only palpates potentiality. Some matter might’ve predated cosmic explosion. In skarjala’s mix and music - its contortion of generic time - an imperciptible force exerts itself comparably.
