In September I took a trip that would change my life for the better. One of my best friends in high school offered me a chance to travel to his home country of Ghana with his large family to honor and celebrate his grandmother's 90th birthday and to reunite with family around the world.  Needless to say I couldn't refuse.

I spent ~2 weeks seeing West Africa for all it's beauty and culture. I ate some of the best food, met some of the nicest and interesting people, and heard some unique music along the way.  I learned a lot about myself on this trip, but what made it so special was being with one of my best friends, and in a way, assimilating into his family. 

While on the long plane ride, I put together a playlist of music that fits both my taste as well as fit the trip theme. I'll be honest, the music played in Ghana was a blend of reggae and Major Lazer-esq party music, and while I wanted to try and make a mix of strictly music I heard on the trip, I doubt I would be able to pull off a great mix..  BUT I included a few songs that I heard on the trip that fit, so I hope you enjoy! Akwaaba, Chale!
