SUNNYSIDE VA VOL.1 - SSY001

For our second episode, we're diving into the world of Edisick, a DJ whose influences and journey are as unique as his sound. Born in Manila, Philippines, and now rooted in South Florida, Edisick blends the rhythms of traditional Filipino music with the beats of house legends like Franky Rizardo, Hot Since 82, The Martinez Brothers, and Green Velvet.

His DJ journey began in 2018 after an unforgettable night at Space, Miami, with Green Velvet. That experience lit a fire in him, turning his love for house music into a passion for mixing tracks. Starting with a Traktor Kontrol S2 gifted by an old friend, Edisick taught himself the ropes and began spinning live shows during the pandemic. Now, he’s evolved from a bedroom DJ to performing at some of Miami’s top venues.

Looking ahead, Edisick dreams of traveling the world and becoming a resident DJ at some of the biggest clubs in Manila. His hard work as an artist and producer is paying off – with his first single, “Release Me,” set to drop on Material Series Label in January 2025.

Gasca’s DJ journey began in December 2019 with a DDJ SB3, a Christmas gift that sparked his passion for mixing. By mid-2023, he was dedicating himself full-time, building a following with his electrifying Instagram live sets. Now, he’s making waves with a dream to play at the world’s biggest venues and alongside industry icons.

Lucero brings us a blend of smooth, minimal, and Latin house vibes, drawing inspiration from some of the biggest names in the scene. Jamie Jones and Marco Carola are two of his biggest influences, and he’s also inspired by the fresh UK sound from artists like Tre Reynolds, VITO, Ollie BC, and Tom Nolan.

Born in Colombia and raised in Miami since the age of 7, Lucero has been immersed in the world of house music for years. It all started with long road trips with friends, where they’d throw on Jamie Jones sets and lose it when a heavy drop hit. His love for the scene only grew as he started attending festivals and shows, fueling his passion and inspiring him to dive into DJing himself. After gifting himself a controller one Christmas, he quickly combined his knack for curating tracks with the skills of blending beats, and a new passion was born.

Looking ahead, Lucero’s goal is simple but powerful: to create a successful music career, retire his parents, and share his unique sound worldwide. In 5 years, he envisions himself banging out original Lucero tracks in Ibiza, surrounded by his friends and family, living his dream.

Fun fact: Back in 2011, Lucero was all about shuffling and gloving to Swedish House Mafia and Deadmau5. His notebooks were even filled with doodles of the iconic mouse head!

After they became a couple in 2019, their musical paths naturally merged, and by 2023, a spontaneous trip to Vegas reignited their shared passion for electronic music, sparking the birth of Forty8Thousand.

With deep roots and a global vision, they’re carving a path as artists committed to connecting people through sound, both on the dancefloor and beyond. 🌍🖤

Raised in Miami with deep Cuban roots, D&S turned down a shot at college volleyball to pursue music full-time, attending Full Sail University and never looking back. Since then, he’s become a name synonymous with quality and presence in the scene — both behind the booth and in the studio.

This mix is a reflection of years of dedication and a deep connection to the dancefloor.
