I took some liberties over the mix for this one. Sound effects and "spacial design" allows this song to take on an immediacy that puts the listener right there with the singer in the events they are telling you about. Presence of vocals and distance to the instruments give the listener an intimacy with this.

We wanted to take the sound of this into that Saturday late night sound heard on radio stations in places like Chi Town and NYC, back in the day. We think we balanced the perfect blend of smooth and bouncy to get this funky up tempo groove into that "BLS" kinda feel.

Josh Sahunta Summertime

“Feet” was tracked at Sounden Studios by Mark Robinson in San Clemente back in 2007. Th’ Moonlight Sexy was a 4 piece band from San Francisco . Their plan was to release a 5 song EP as their debut, but about halfway through the tracking, their record label dropped them without even hearing the songs they were currently recording. They decided to finish the tracking of the EP anyway and the group disbanded shortly thereafter.
The songs remained unmixed until 2017 when Mark Robinson and Steve Dandrea decided they were too good to let them sit in a digital (and analog) vault. "We thought it would be cool to finally mix the EP and release it independently so that’s what we did".

We got a hold of the tracks and this is what we did with it.
7 or 8 guitar tracks and jusr=t as many vocal tracks can be distilled into a single focus if the balance and automation are correct

thank you Steve Dandrea and Mark Robinson for making the tracks available top us. it was truly a great song to mix.
