Weaved my way thru some of the Genres and sub-Genres of the Proggy/Melodic sound, allowing each individual track to tell the full story intended by the Producers, and I am pleased with the arrangement & outcome. Hope everyone will too!

Some really groovy numbers on this one. Groovy to the point where I found myself focusing the arrangement on the individual tracks, and not as much as, pieces of a working cohesion, together creating a sound of feeling & flow. 

This piece is more for- headphones on, relaxing, & allowing your soul to journey thru the subtle madness that is......

With the weather breaking & summer in the air, it always takes me back to the warehouse raves of the 90's. Sun coming up over the horizon, peaking thru the broken glass in the windows, with the likes of Miles(Maeda) or Trevor(Lamont) playing an early morning House set. Nights like this is what inspired my original choice to play Deep House, when I first began to play. Even though my sound has evolved, House music has & always will, have a special place in my Soul.

Twisted Memoirs

The Third & final mix of the TftPD Series, tranquil matters, saw me leaning heavily on the sound that defined me in the golden era of This Thing We Call Dance... the early 2000's Progressive movement. 

tranquil's arrangment allowed me the opportunity to utilize tracks that I really liked, but for whatever reason(s), had eluded their place in the stories of previous mixes. I feel this mix as a whole did a good job of unifying & concluding the Series, but also told it's own story without having to force a narrative. It's one that can be enjoyed by listeners that may not necessarily be hip to the Proggy sound, not only as a final chapter, but on it's own as well. 

I hope everyone digs this as much as I did creating it. Keeping in mind the philanthropic purpose it stands for. 

Equality is not a physical comparison to reaffirm superiority, but a path leading to enlightenment through the journey of eternity.

Tales from the Panty Drawer: Vol Three: tranquil matters

roadtrip magic found Part Two of the Series in a scenario where I was playing an extended (open to close) headlining set, having no restraint on where the path of the journey I was embarking on with the audience would lead. 

At roughly the two hour point while recording this, is when I started to think that I may be on to something a bit more than a personal playlist to pass time while driving, and decided that I would share it with all of you. 

This mix really traverses through the House & Techno genres as a whole, exposing my true love of This Thing We Call Dance in it's many forms, taking me back to a time where a DJ was the opener, headliner & closer most nites at the club.

From signature sounds of the genres, to the farthest reaches of the label's webs, while interweaving everything in-between the construct sub-genres of their respective sound, roadtrip magic was adapted from the time when DJ's would take you on a guided tour, journeying on the waves of frequency, on a magic carpet ride. 

And as alwasys... all Art was created & provided by my Kiddo.

Tales from the Panty Drawer: Vol Two: roadtrip magic

This is the first of a three part series that manifested very organically. I wanted to get them online in time to celebrate International Women's Day, but the universe had other plaans. 

First, I guess alittle backstory on the name of the series itself is probably necessary, so here goes:

I keep a few pair of underwear for my Kiddo downstairs, so my lazy ass doesn't have to go upstairs. After getting a few of them out of my wife's undergarment drawer on a few occasions, the stark reality of just how much more pressure, complexity & effort society places on females, even when performing the simplest of tasks, like putting on undergarments. There were occasion based, monthly timing based and leisure options, each with their own story to tell, with most having a matching garment to go along with them. Most males like me, we have one option for everything no matter the occasion and/or condition of the garment. I wanted this project to be my way of acknowledging the struggle, but also to celebrate the God's greatest creation.

That said, Ladies this one is for you, and I present Tales from the Panty Drawer. 

Now, for alittle backstory on the content itself. I was going on vaca and wanted to record a few mixes to pass time while driving 12hrs to Orlando. I had not been actively trainspotting at the time, so I was looking through older tracks that had fell through the cracks on previous projects for whatever reason, and came up with scenarios to base the sound, treating them like live sets, so I didn't have to take into account whether a track appeared on a different mix already, or not released less than a week ago, to avoid creating boundaries for creativity. Not to mention it began as simply something to pass the time while driving. 

Part One of the Series (just because) found me transporting back to the 90's rave scene, where generators provided the only power & dusty ass floors were the fog machines, giving way to the sun, as it would gently start to peak into the broken windows, creating the perfect backdrop for the DJ's of the era that embraced the art of the sunrise/closing set. 

just because is my interpretive ode to the time & people that left me with so many beautiful memories. Illustrated with a deep Chi'town feel at it's core, never venturing too far outside the pocket, while maintaining the balance of restraint, to keep from being too physically demanding, yet groovy enough to keep you in constant motion, as our bodies are busy milking every last bit of effort from the chemical companion that accompanied us that nite.

The Series can be absorbed in it's three parts or a one continuous exploration of sound, and as always... all Art for this project was created & provided by my Kiddo.
