Crashing_RoughMix

This is a largely unfinished EP that I was working on.  The music itself was completed, but gaps in vocals and production as I was experimenting with different mixing styles.  I lost all the original mixes when my hard drive died but (thankfully) still had the revisions that I had bounced before the sad death of said hard drive.  

Credits to Joe Johnson for vocals, assisting with the production and, most importantly, being a constant inspiration and motivator to me.

A Lesson Before Dying

Final Project for a class.

I took one of my original songs (formerly untitled, now called "At All Costs") and transformed it into a funk song for my final project for Music Genres.  I was very much inspired by James Brown.

Style Traits
-Drums use several patterns, including the zig swing and displaced rhythms.
-Bass emphasizes the tonic on the downbeats, otherwise it uses syncopated rhythms throughout most of the piece.
-Guitars are playing seventh chords and ninth chords.  This is the greatest deviation from the original other than the drums.  The original did not use any complex chord structures.  The lead guitar tries to keep to the original pattern as much as possible.
-Horns take over the melody from the guitars and also serve as a guide for vocals.
