Hubie Davison makes his artist debut on Leisure System with the I Won’t Be There EP, an expansive collection of lush, interplanetary house that is at once vaguely exotic and completely entrancing.

Hailing from Ireland and previously studying music composition in London, Davison synthesizes the emotive melodicism of artists like John Talabot and Caribou with the bare grooviness of Nicolas Jaar, incorporating phantasmagorical vocal samples into a refined instrumental palette. I Won’t Be There is an ethereal listening experience, with tracks developing from calm restraint to exhilarating peaks. Whether it’s the gentle rainstorm that introduces “Mannequin Move,” the gauzy hollers of “Yeh Sai,” or the pulsing piano chords and swollen bass of standout opener “I Won’t Be There,” Davison has a fully-formed feel for mellow grooves, while the thumping, floor-ready Dayvision Rework of “I Won’t Be There” should be getting played out at Panorama Bar for months to come.

Welcome to part one of Peloton’s soundtrack for aeronauts, aviatrix contenders, dirigible riders, creatures of flight and all those in perpetual motion: The Taking Flight EP.“Taking Flight” is both metaphor for the label’s re-launch and a direct nod to the next collaborative theme that will take things to the skies with our upcoming theme “Birds in Flight”.
The Title track, “First Birds of Morning” produced by long time musical collaborator Stewart Walker, is the perfect introduction and pseudo-narrative for Peloton’s second theme in the series.After headlining the highly successful Peloton Launch party at Decibel Festival 2008, and later hearing of the label’s upcoming compilation,Stewart contributed “First Birds of Morning”.We commissioned Lusine (Jeff McIlwain) and The Sight Below (Rafael Anton Irisarri) for the first set of remixes who were both key proponents of the initial label’s launch with Bicycles Are Your Friends.Hanssen and Jon McMillion throw their wings open as Seattle's 5th wave.  This is just a preview with a few more remixes to come.

During the journey of making this song and finding the best way to share it with the world, a fellow musician recommended I reach out to someone to remix the song to share with the club community.  In this way, a version can exist where even more people can connect to this song in a more positive and healing light.

I was home with my parents in New Jersey when I heard of the shooting at the nightclub in Florida. Hate, violence, and intolerance has always upset me, but I haven't been this overwhelmed with sadness and disbelief in a long time. The victims were only trying to be themselves and be comfortable and safe in their surroundings. That safety was violated out of fear and with a gun. 

I originally wanted to raise money for the victims and their families, but I knew the issue was bigger than this. I wrote "Not Myself" for the victims of this horrific event, but I chose to support the research and awareness work of Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund: a movement of Americans working together to end gun violence and build safer communities. 
In the memory of those trying to be safe and be themselves, I hope we can all come together to help prevent another massacre like this and end gun violence.
