Here's my set from SOTU Trinidad & Tobago in Jan 2023.

I played the closing slot on the rooftop from 5am - 7:15am. As everyone gathered on the rooftop in the darkness under the stars, I felt a deep, melodic, and euphoric energy. I wanted to play some tunes that captured this but also had a driving force to carry the people through. Just around daybreak, the crowd energy was going strong. As the sun showed itself, I moved into a fun and bouncy segment for the next hour before bringing it back down with a couple feel good tunes.

Big love to the SOTU fam, and everyone who came out that night and danced with me on the rooftop. Forever in my mind and heart.

My first proper gig!  It was an absolute pleasure and a privilege to share the DJ booth with @niall-kiernan at MUUA2 in London. This idea came from my day-to-day life over the last few weeks in London, where my daily listening would not comprise of the club music I love to play and hear when I go out. 

So this series will focus on the calmer, deeper music I love to listen to on a day-to-day basis. Along the way you may hear some familiar favourites that I've dug up from my laptop, and also some songs you'd never expect to hear, like the ending of this mix. Also, I may include some ambience from what I hear around me daily, such as the passing trains outside my window in this mix.

Dialectics (n.) – The art of investigating or discussing the truth of opinions. The discourse between two people holding opposing viewpoints view but trying to establish a common truth through reasoned discussion.

Born out of the renowned, best-selling Yin : Yang label concept, musical discourse is brought to life through the meticulous choices of Tripp Baronner – DJ, curator and full-time member of the Proton team. Presenting “Dialectics,” a monthly show airs on Proton Radio and DI.fm showcasing the finest underground music talent in two contrasting but inextricably linked hours.

Part 1 sees Yin thematically represented while Yang is juxtaposed through Part 2. Intimately interconnected while fluid by design, resident hosts alternate and interchange with guest artists to create a dynamic dialectical discourse.

Dialectics 060 with Solis [US] - Yin Edition

Here's my recording from Sunsetter's Warehouse rave. This was a special night for me, because I put a lot of creative effort into the event itself outside of just the music. The energy of the people was so incredible and wholesome for the entire night, and I wanted to capture that in my track selection.

I played the closing set from 4-6am, and wanted to carry the audience with me to the end. What followed was some deep percussive grooves, some feel good dance tracks, and some hypnotic sounds to close it all off.

HOWL All Night Long - EP1

Poured my heart and soul out for SOTU's 8th anniversary, bringing in the sunrise, playing from 4.30am - closing. The music and crowd took me in various directions, from opening deep playa mood, building into some harder beats and crunchy basslines. As the sun came up, I moved into some groovier percussive stuff, indie, disco, deep house, disco, the full spectrum. I even played one of my own unreleased tunes 😎

Musically, I love the genre-blurring age we're in, where a djembe supports a 303 acid line, a brass section roars with a thumping kick, a 90s punk power chord riff screams with a punchy disco snare. My story as a DJ is to convey this multi-genre influence and inspiration, and this night was no different.

Huge love to the SOTU fam for having me, and the crowd for pumping and thumping til the very end. Until we dance again 💛
