This is a demo of a song that I started writing in April 1997 on my old Yahama W7. You can probably hear that I didn't quantize my playing and the recording is pretty rough, because I simply hooked the synth up to my PC's sound card and didn't do any post recording clean-up. Sadly, this song only exists on a floppy disk, which my W7 can't read because its disk drive is broken. I don't have any of the music written down and can only remember some of the chords.


What Is This Thing Called Love?

This is the first track I ever produced using GarageBand. I put it together in a hotel room using my old Apple PowerBook 12" G4 in March 2005.

I created this track using the Mac version of GarageBand in April 2007. I'd just finished reading "The Right Stuff" by Tom Wolfe so my head was full of tales of daring test pilots, astronauts and rocket planes. XLR-99 is the name of the liquid propellant rocket engine that powered the North American X-15 as flown by a certain Neil Armstrong amongst others. As a child I always thought the X-15 was a cooler-looking plane than the better known Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird.

A song I originally wrote in 1994. It was created using GarageBand on an Apple iPad 2. Some of the sounds are sampled from the Fairlight app running on my iPhone using GarageBand running on the iPad.

SIGHT is a piece about the formation and conjugation of a memory. An expression of wonder and communion through visual memory.

Sunshine's inspirational messages and brilliant music were the perfect way to close out our first day and night of amplified music.
