This is my submission for the Impressions Composing Jam: Imagination #2, where the goal is to create music that fits a given theme & Image.

The theme for the jam is the phrase "The Far Reaches" and the painting "The Amida Falls in the Far Reaches of the Kisokaidō Road" by Katsushika Hokusai.

Out There

This composition was created as a submission for the Impressions Composing Jam: Imagination #2 on itch.io. The week before the deadline, I had been working on other game jams, so I had to create this idea within a day.

The story of the piece was inspired by the theme of the jam "Far Reaches" and the painting by Katsushika Hokusai, The Amida Falls in the Far Reaches of the Kisokaidō Road, c. 1832.

My mind thought about the places that I and others might never be able to admire because of our location, lack of time, and economic circumstances, to name a few.

This piece attempts to depict two things:

1. The awe people in the painting might have felt at first glance when seeing the majestic waterfall between the cliffs. 

2. Our desire to embark on an adventure, but never able to get to where we want.

The Sky and the Sea

The first of three tracks for the Itch.io Impressions Composing Jam hosted by KaleOverlord. This set of tracks represents a fictional role playing video game, "The Far Reaches". In this first track, the player is embarking on their journey to The Far Reaches, not knowing what lies ahead, but travels through various terrains as they move from cautious to optimistic for what the journey has in store.

Reaching For A Lonely Summit

This track is a submission for a music jam! The theme is "break the rules" (tempo switch ups, unexpected notes, moment of silence, etc). 

I wanted to play with these three concepts in particular, so throughout the song, there will be some slightly off tempo sounds, unexpected notes with the synths and bass that clash, and moments where the music stops and comes back. I also wanted to play around with large switch-ups where each movement still flowed together, as an additional element for breaking the rules

Crystallized Memories

Boss music for the Mad King, and my submission for the Impressions Composing Jam hosted on itchio. The theme was "The Mountain King."

"Mountain of Madness" would be a highly stylized, colorful action game. The soundtrack would be a mix of rock and electro. My entrie is the music of the confrontation with the "Mad King", the final boss at the top of the mountain. 

It's an electro-rock track that alternates between soft and hard phases. I wanted the guitar and synth to convey a sense of action, and the violin to bring back a noble feel to the music. The general tone is one of combat, madness, and the idea that it's almost the end (of the game).
