It is with great pleasure that we wrap up the first round of the Deep, Dark & Dangerous Collaboration Project. First things first, the standard was really high and left us feeling really good about the direction things are heading! 
Here's the final product, a mix of some of our favourite submissions, all made using the sample pack we provided at the start of the month! We weren't able to include all the submissions of course, as there were over 150. But here's a taster of 40 or so tracks we felt nailed it, or did something unique or interesting.

A recurring collaborative project for producers. Come collab with us!

Each project will feature a sample pack from a different prouder. This session we have the don Leon Switch on board with a very Deep, Dark and Dangerous flavored pack. We look up to Leon as one of the most influential producers on the underground dubstep sound.

We want producers out there to download the samples and get to work creating beats. At the end of the session, we'll compile the most interesting results into a mix. And release the dopest beats for free via Deep, Dark & Dangerous.

Here's a demo Leon Switch put together to show you this month's samples.

This is NOT a competition, it's a chance to interact and collaborate with other producers of the Deep, Dark & Dangerous persuasion. It's all about stimulating creativity, getting people involved and inspired. Because the end product is a mix, tracks don't necessarily need to be fully laid out, an intro leading to a sick drop concept could be just as powerful as a 5 minute long masterpiece. Just get in there and get your hands dirty, the more interesting and original the better!

This is the starting point, to get the creativity flowing. Get to work on some beats, see where the inspiration takes you. Don't limit yourself to these samples, but submissions must contain a few of these, especially the musical elements. We want to see how you interpret the source material and add your own twist.

Submissions due by 05/12/2015. Feel free to upload your track on Soundcloud and wherever else you want. However, please send your final submission to deepdarkdanger@gmail.com for consideration in the mix.

Summer of Slurk Vol 2


This graphic is originally from an installation that was on display at Fractal Tribes annual campout "Fractal Fest". Walking to my campsite one night I stumbled upon this magnificent creation. At first it was hard for me to pallet. Literally a naked woman chained to what looked like hundreds of cables and at least 15 glitched TV's. Once I accepted this intense imagery as reality the intent of the artist came to the surface. I feel a deep connection to Soyoon's work and Sarah Dee brought it to life in a way that Netty captured perfectly. I would love to see more socially challenging art like this in the festival community. The emotions this piece of art invoke are far more psychedelic than any chemical.
