Caanupa

This track made using a large modular synthesizer using 6 voices. Each voicing was recorded into Pro Tools while played live on separate tracks at once. The sequencing program Numerology 3, which was used to run the modular by sending midi from Numerology to two Arrick Q104 Midi to CV, and the MOTM 650 Midi to CV converter.

These control the 6 voices. The recorded tracks were then mixed in Pro Tools using minimal processing. Download the track for best playback results in full CD quality.

Bonnie Jo Hunt, a well known, classically trained opera singer, sings an Omaha Tribe Lullaby, accompanied with electronic music played on a Modular Synthesizer by Ron Sunsinger.  


Omaha Clear Sky CD Mix

A 45 module, <a href="http://synthesizers.com &amp;amp;">synthesizers.com/</a> and MOTM hybrid, analog modular synthesizer, is under the control of the Numerology Sequencer by <a href="http://Five12.com">Five12.com</a>. The novation Launchpad is used for preset launching. The sequencer is playing 7 independent voicings in a live performance. The voices include 6 VCOs, 6 Filters, including the MOTM 440 and 480 Filter, Mankato Filter, and others. 5 Envelope Generators and 7 VCA Modules are used. MOTM LFO's are included to slowly modulate the outcome of each voice. Only a Modcan Super Delay Module and a Boss Giga Delay pedal are used as FX. Everything is played and mixed live.

Voyager 2

The modular synthesizer is played live and recorded by a hand held H4 Zoom recorder.  The multiple sequences are modulated by triggers, varying clock speeds, trigger sequencers, and transposing sequencers.  A solo with a 500mm ribbon controller was also played live.

I'm finding that I like this Analog Shift Register very much.  A V-Synth arpeggiator is controlling an Arrick modular synthesizer through a MOTM 650 midi interface.The Analog Shift Register is at the top of the chain, the A, B, C, outputs are sent to an Arrick Q171 quantizer then on to 3 separate oscillators, each one with its own waveshape.Sawtooth, Triangle, and Pulse waves.
The oscillators are sent to a mixer.  Listen as each channel comes in and out of the mix, and hear what the Analog Shift Register does. There is a Boss Giga Delay involved for texture.

One take live-The output of the Walking Stick channel is run through a Modcan B Dual Frequency Shifter.I'm using this module to shift both the timbre of the instrument and LFO modulation.The high frequency shifting creates the more reedy tones.Various Sequencers doing percussion and backing, The Psionic Soundworks Walking Stick is put through a scaled quantizer in Augmented Scale and played as the Solo instrument.
