Jens Schwan, best known as the owner of the THE CLUBMAP magazine and co-founder of ZUG DER LIEBE, has been in the techno scene for 30 years now. "Frontier Reichenberger" marks his debut though when it comes to releasing records. The title might ring a bell for some of us as it is a literal combination of a track by Underground Resistance and the old location of the Hard Wax record store in Berlin. The record itself reminds us of classic Chicago House style music - claps, hi-hats and bass drums are neatly pumping their way into this nimbly track with its noisy attitude. The remix delivered by Jarno Eerola is a playful deep house track, a chugging jazzy piece of music that shuffles along slightly dragged, demanding your attention with loud little surprises. Jarno releases music under his alias Joe Le Bon and Aitokaiku and has now released three albums and various tracks on labels such as International Deejay Gigolo Records, Pro-Tez, Plastik.FM and Blumenbeat. His remix is a true evidence to his skills in the studio. On a side note, Jarno is not just a DJ and procuder, though - he is a tinkerer and a little bit crazy. He has toured conferences and festivals all over Europe and Russia, building audiovisual installations.

So ist "Frontier Reichenberger" auch ein Wortspiel aus einem Track von Underground Resistance und der alten Location des Hard WAX in der Reichenberger Straße. Die Platte ist eine Hommage an den 90er Jahre Underground House mit seiner rumpelnden krachigen Attitüde Die Claps, Hi-Hats und Bassdrum pumpen im Chicago House Style. Die versprenkelten Chords und Vocals erinnern an DJ Sneak und Chez Damier. Dem New Yorker House wird zwar leise Hallo gesagt, aber gesungen wird woanders. Der Remix von Jarno Eerola ist ein großartiger, verspult verspielter Deephouse Track. Jarno veröffentlicht Musik unter den Namen Joe Le Bon und Aitokaiku und hat inzwischen drei Alben herausgebracht. Dazu Veröffentlichungen bei Labels wie International Deejay Gigolo Records, Pro-Tez, Plastik.FM und Blumenbeat. Sein Remix strahlt Tiefe aus und ist ein wahrer Beweis für seine Fähigkeiten im Studio. Ein pluckerndes jazziges Stück Musik, das leicht verschleppt dahinschlurft, und mit lauter kleinen Überraschungen deine Aufmerksamkeit fordert. Jarno ist aber nicht nur DJ und Procuder. Jarno ist ein Tüftler und ein bisschen verrückt. Er tourte auf Konferenzen und Festivals in ganz Europa und Russland und baute audiovisuelle Installationen.

"You Should Run" starts without a beat with one of those vocals like from the early days of techno. Then a dry roasty kick and a wobbling creaky bass line bangs in, which alone are completely enough to have fun on the dancefloor. 

On top Jens packs a female chorus with two overlapping piano samples and from the middle of the track he also drives up an acid line and makes the whole number equally suitable for festival and club.  

His track celebrates summer but is hybrid enough to rock sweaty basements. The PeakTime monster skillfully mixes up the genre expectations and holds some surprises on seven minutes.
