They don't believe they have to pick team that's required to make the car go faster. This is the concept behind an exploration of the second major Ingredient of team performance and productivity.

The shape of the race car has real relevance to leaders, their strategies and the teams charged with making them happen. The driver points the nose cone of the car where they want to go – ahead of the next car and towards the finishing line. The focus is clear. All the power at the back of the car is channeled in a funnel right up through the nose of the car – in one clear direction. If only the same principles applied in organizations, their strategies and teams.
