Talented Chicago producer Chris E. Pants presents his disco credentials for inspection on this his debut release for File Under Disco. 

1981 is an original slice of synth & piano led disco music that conjurs up memories of legendary producers like Patrick Adams, Shep Pettibone and Chaz Jankel amongst others. 

Remixes come courtesy of fellow Chicago House producer The Black Madonna who holds onto the disco vibes of the original while heavily dubbing it out for the dance floor. While on the flip, Disco Deviants, Pete Herbert & Dicky Trisco, take a more Balearic inspired, hands-in-the-air disco trip that will please DJs and beachcombers alike.

Showing his true colours, Rayko delivers a dubbed out edit of The O’Jays – Heads Together with a full vocal version being this release’s FREE 320k download available on SoundCloud. One could say that 2011 was Rayko’s year with his hit Broadway being recently announced as the No.1 disco track of 2011 on Juno, but we think that this is just the beginning for him with bigger things to come. Born in the Canary Islands, Rayko is a producer and DJ deeply influenced by the artists and sounds of the 70's and 80's. These influences led him to launch his own label; Rare Wiri in the summer of 2008, gaining immediate critical acclaim with it's first release making Record of the Week at Manchester's highly regarded Piccadilly Records. Rayko has an impressive portfolio of releases under his belt and has an almost insatiable thirst for editing both classics and lost gems in his distinctive and infectious style. Rayko is also an artist central to the Retrospective All Starrs project, which will feature a variety of names from the slowed down house and nu disco scene.
