The second UH album, recorded 2008–2009 in Las Vegas and Los Angeles hotel rooms, apartments, and whatever quiet corners we could steal.

Built the same way as HEHHEH: Logic + Reason spine, Apogee/Rode recording the vocals, live 5-string bass, tenor sax, percussion, UVI sounds running through MOTU, and a lot of late-night caffeine. Featuring my brother Damien Erwin on guitar and drums across multiple tracks (especially the covers), and surprise toddler cameos from my sons, one heroic finger on the B fret during a bass take and the other who hijacked the mic for an unforgettable vocoder “do do do” on It's Over.

Highlights:

Broken Key – politely handing back the keys to a gold-digger
Je Ne Sais Quoi – a chord progression that haunted me for years on an old acoustic, finally set free on a Zager guitar
On The Roof – sneaky nighttime rendezvous anthem
El Compadre – a mariachi in a restaurant warns a guy exactly where this woman will take him… and years later, here we are, matches in hand
Achin' – straight rhythmic body blows
Tango (Moonlight Side) – the original, raw version
Walking Down Newland – wrong-turn gratitude featuring the legend James Gadson on drums. While tracking vocals an earthquake hit LA; we left the rumble in at the end because some moments write themselves.
