YUF-O is Yu Su and Francis Inferno Orchestra.

In the blistering Los Angeles Summer of 2019, a chance encounter occurred between pals Yu Su and FIO, whilst both dishevelled and on their own separate journeys to overcome immigration bureaucracy. In the midst of filling out forms and enduring long waiting periods (pre pandemic) the pair managed to spend some time in the studio, two afternoons to be exact. The result; YUF-O. Four tracks that comprise a charming and characteristic blend of both artists' personalities, yet totally unexpected in the best possible way. A mixture of absurd house, blissful ambient, accidental trance and some totally weird and wonderful other stuff.

‘Parachutes’ immediately sets the senses adrift, enticing us in with multiple layers of dreamlike melodic haze, sparse broken drums and deep dubwise lows made for full body hypnosis, while the wicked bass bin rumbler ‘103 Alarm’ deals in mysterious swirling rhythms, with alien-like synth stabs and immersive drones turning up the suspense before a wash of melancholy and a whispering voice calls from beyond.

The choppy groove of ‘Juts’ makes for a deep jungle inspired house melter, the soundtrack to a surprise encounter with a friendly being from a distant planet. The final offering ups the stakes with the tech savvy ‘Play-Doh’ whipping us into an acidic frenzy full of heavy bass wobble and moments of sublime dancefloor euphoria.”

He delivers a unique blend of house cuts EP that conjures up a very blissed out and heady feel. Digging deep in the roots of electronic dance music the tracks have a classic and familiar feel, reminiscent of the heydays of early 90's raves and chill outs where the darker and deeper sounds reigned. Antenna puts a fresh spin on those classic themes and firmly sets it in a 21st century place. 
Another beautiful release on the Clone sub label celebrating the musical diversity of all offsprings of the Royal Oak of house music.

Big Zen makes his entrance on Mood Hut records with Prayer Bass, a freely focused collection of euphoric funk-splashed club-cuts from the much-loved Vancouver underground legend. Those who have seen him play at free parties in the park or at the many under-cover basements of Vancouver City will already know what Prayer Bass is all about. 

After many sessions and years of friendship both on and off the dance floor we are pleased to finally work with Big Zen. Following up his recently self-released 'Mirror Cut' 12" here Big Zen continues to swim out into the technicolour deep: Prayer bass is purple, Sugar Coated is frosty cream, Cash Splash is lightning blue, Rumble Ball is tangerine.

A compilation that holds no genre but lots of weight, the aim and purpose of our first release was to give complete control to each artist who contributed to this compilation. Resulting in a balanced, yet genre bending flow from track to track creating what appears to be a perfectly premeditated body of work from start to finish - mixing through ambient and downtempo textures, dubby inspired breaks,  house & darker tones seamlessly.
