Dubbed "Disco-fied new-wave pop" by the Guardian Guide, Lesser Panda are no strangers to  press-tags... an early one being “Nu-grave” which raised a few eyebrows. All you need to know is that frontman Mariano’s vocal style has been reference with luminaries such as Robert Smith, Ian Curtis and McCulloch... 

Having a colourful CV to date, they have worked with Hot Chip who produced their earlier demos and have performed live at an array of vibrant gigs in addition to their own Pandaphillia warehouse parties in Hackney Wick. Festival duties include Standon Calling alongside Mystery Jets, Super Furry Animals and The Maccabees. In addition, Lesser Panda were personally invited to play to a select crowed before the recent Joy Division documentary screening in Manchester. Quite an accolade to come from such a legendary band.
Lesser Panda’s first single “Happy Birthday’ secured them “Vinyl of the Week” in NME, MTV 120 Minutes,  airtime from Xfm and early club spins. The EP went down a storm, selling out within a week of release and securing loads of column inches to great critical acclaim.  “…one of the capital's best-kept secrets” hailed Music Week whilst, The Fly simply warned: “James Murphy, watch your back."  
Their second single “Ghostdance/ Carousel” brought support from Kiss FM on the remix front, Drums of Death/ Moscow and Heartbreak doing the honours here. Press heat has continued to build for the band with reviews in M8, iDj to features in Clash, Artrocker etc!!! Previous supporters of the band include Xfm’s John Kennedy who was all over ‘Happy Birthday’, tipped in Music Week as one to check out by the then Deputy Editor of Vice magazine, Piers Martin who said they: “aren't afraid to crack open the punk-funk.” 

On the visual side, Lesser Panda have partnered with directors John Major’s Daughters, who worked with the Klaxons and Robbie Williams amongst others. The outcome being two innovative high-end  promo productions walking them onto MTV.

Now working with Sam Architeq on the production duties the band have recently completed the first stage of their album sessions. The outcome being four stirring songs which define the band’s ability to find the light in the darkness and bring the most kinetic flare out of dense sound and subject matter.
