Super Drama are Jerome Slesinski and Jon Arnold, two friends that have firmly planted themselves as fixtures on the East London Queer scene with their eclectic dj sets and slick productions. In 2020 they launched Super Drama Records to release queer traxx and raise money for queer charities. They have releases on labels including Phantasy, Moshi Moshi and Public Possession among others and are concentrating on bringing out music on Super Drama Records this year including the next Chapter in their compilation series "Family Drama 3".

Notes on the Mix ///
"We took a little bit of a break from recording mixes due to doing a lot of them during the pandemic, so it was a lot of fun to get back to it, especially with the mix being for Pride month. We went with the theme of "bangers we want to hear in the dirtiest, queerest basement around". The two of us never know what each other is going to play so we always get mega excited hearing the new bangers we have collected recently. Lots of jumping around the studio and asking each other "what is THIS?". There's tracks from friends, big names, new bandcamp finds for us and maybe even an exxxclusive from us somewhere."

Either side of the dinner table they sat in silence, moving their food slowly around their plates. This was the usual routine at family meetings; what would begin with welcoming embraces and excited chatter soon turned sour when the conversation turned to politics and current affairs. But with each visit the younger members seemed to whittle away at their parents flimsy arguments, leaving them with food for thought. There was no harm in a bit of family drama...

Dalston Superstore residents Super Drama kickstart their new label with a series of three V/A EPs celebrating the artists central to East London's queer scene, with a few international friends thrown in for good measure. Originally planned as a full album, to be rolled out alongside a string of charity fundraising events, the first of the three EPs bring together the likes of Hannah Holland, Jaye Ward, Angel D'lite, label bosses Super Drama and Homodrop's Cheriii who delivers a stomping warehouse jam peppered with crisp percussion and underpinned by a warbling acid line.

Everyone likes a little drama at times and this one comes in three acts. London based artist duo Super Drama is about to release the first part of their Family Drama series, which comes altogether with five tracks from Cheriii, Jaye Ward, Angel D'lite, the duo itself and Hannah Holland. The latter delivers the deepest musical approach on the various artists EP with her take People Power, which seemingly is a homage to the early Chicago House days and contains a message that's as relevant as the current world events: no person is illegal. Provided with a percussion infuenced bass line, the aforementioned deep note of People Power highlights the message, namely that of resisting anywhere and everywhere if people doubt and deny the legality of a human being. Hannah Holland delivers a mixture of various chords that are smoothly integrated into the track's corpus; that are responsible to emphasize or keep the groove and transports people's powers elegantly and intriguing through the five minutes of the track.

Exclusive: Jorkes - With You In The Darkroom

A couple of weeks before Christmas it's time for another round of Family Drama, the second act in Super Drama's various artist series, whose entire proceeds are going to Mermaids and Black LGBTQIA+ funds. For the Volume 2 the London-based artists and label heads have compiled a set of five track from artists such as Coco Cole, Michelle Manetti, Ms. G, FYI Chris and southern German Jorkes, who contributes With You In The Darkroom. Starting off with intriguing percussions while in the course of the first seconds supported with synth-chords that slowly fades in, With You In The Darkroom takes you to most bizarre corners of the initially mentioned location and further, with every bell stroke and almost alarming sounding chord the listener is soaked deeper into the world the track creates and its corpus. Almost calmly coming in, due to the wave-esque background sequence, the listener is flushed in the darkroom to maintain and discover it, the music and the track.

Super Drama Records' V/A Family Drama Vol. 2 will be released on November 6th, 2020.
