Ma HaiPing (MHP) is a producer from mainland China. He was born in Shanghai in 1981. The uniqueness of the music senery and sci-fi image brought him the call of "Son of Shanghai techno".His music was deeply influenced by Detroit techno and early Berlin underground scene. In the past 12 years experiences as a music producer, his music style covered techno, house, industrial, experimental atmospheres, original soundtrack, etc. In terms of both style and technology, he is the miniature of the development of China's electronic music.V/O/I/D Label, which he is involved in, is the most pure techno crew in China, he has also performed with Juan Atkins, Robert hood, Oscar Mulero, Scan 7 on the same stage.

Datura Dilema [ Subsist /  Labrynth ] 


Datura Dilema, just like the Moonflower… only flow’s during the night or very early morning hours.

The genus name is derived from Dhatura, an ancient Hindu word. Dilema comes from the Greek; it is a problem offering at least two possibilities, neither of which are practically acceptable.

Today, Datura Dilema grows underground and unmaterialistic, yet innovative in cold and calculated minds, just as a dilema in two alternative ways, constructive and/or destructive; clearly defined mind-blowing repetitive sequences.

Datura Dilema can lay dormant underground for years and germinate when the time is disturbed; darker edged and obscure melodramatic deep drones fill up landscapes of pervasive cloud sculptures.

His complexity retains an abstract electronica direction that translates into Tropane alkaloids, hyoscyamine and scopolamine which are classified as deliriants or anticholinergics utilizing machinery and a variety of tools.

Datura Dilema and its seeds and leaves, are sometimes used as a hallucinogen, which are used to build and create compressed analogue signals in a certain way, where the mind will once again have one or both of the choices of my dilema.

Datura Dilema intoxication typically produces a complete inability to differentiate reality from fantasy; hyperthermia; bizarre and possibly strange behavioral variations like a pressure wave caused by the vibration and frequency of sound and substances.
Datura Dilema encapsulates a variation of sound enhancements, elements coming and going from different distances imitating refraction of sound waves, mystical twisted high quality sounds that figure as bright spots; which in reality is a form of communication generated through moods and atmospheres.

Since the mid-1990s, Rich Oddie and Christina Sealey have been creating a unique fusion of techno, industrial, and electro-acoustic music. Using modular and analog synthesizers, software, location recordings and feedback circuits, Oddie and Sealey draw upon the darker tendencies of techno, electro, and dub, and combine these elements with the experimental aesthetics of early industrial music. Orphx has gained an international following as one of the pioneering acts within the European "rhythmic noise" scene and has more recently come to the attention of techno fans through their releases and remix work on Sonic Groove and Semantica.

They have performed in numerous countries around the world, appearing at celebrated venues such as Berghain (Berlin), Mutek (Montreal) and Qwartz (Paris), and sharing the stage with artists such as Alva Noto, Byetone, Laurie Anderson, Legowelt, Marcel Dettmann, Monolake, Pan Sonic and many others. Oddie and Sealey have also collaborated on audio / visual projects and exhibitions related to their musical work. Orphx have released nine albums and numerous singles on vinyl, cd and cassette. Their most recent work further develops a dark hybrid of techno, dub and industrial that has been met with critical acclaim from many of techno's leading DJs.

Tom Bonaty [ Prologue ] Germany

Tom Bonaty (Label Head Prologue) deals with electronic music since 1989. His style is strongly influenced from the old Ultraschall Club in Munich. The imprint’s head got his start in electronic music in the late ’80s, DJing and working in a local record store for years before starting his first label, Treibsand, with two friends. Treibsand was a short-lived affair, beginning in 1999 and abruptly stopping in 2000, but it was an important one. Through its releases, Tom became even more and more better friends with local and international DJs like Cio D’or, Fanon Flowers, Patrick Skoog, Alex Flatner. After a short break in managing labels he started to build up Prologue in 2008 to fullfill own vision of electronic music label and with the idea to supporting friends to publish Techno Music. Tom’s sets are characterized by deep atmospheric electronic Techno music with this kind of driven and dirty techno even designed for Techno Clubs. He played in several locations in Europe together with Donato Dozzy, Ben Klock, Lucy, Gorgio Gigli, Dino Sabatini, Dario Zenker.

Ricardo Donoso is a composer, percussionist, and electronic musician from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, who currently lives in Boston. He is one half of the ever morphing electronic duo Perispirit and also performs solo electronic music under his own name. In addition, he composes music for film and television.

His debut solo LP 'Progress Chance' on Digitalis Recordings was released in September 2011 to critical acclaim, displaying his more recent gravitation towards more techno infused, polyrhythmic based electronic music. September 2012 will see the release of his follow up 'Assimilating the Shadow' taking his morning sound to new levels.

Thanks to Dasha and Lars for finishing this experimental techno mix during a busy year of them. For this mix, they called it " B SIDES " techno, the idea of this mix came from dirty techno with experimental edges, live made special techno for Smoke machine. When we received this mix, it reminds us that Dasha played a very unique experimental set at Labyrinth festival in Japan, when you start listening to the mix, you'll know what to do.

Dasha also played at Smoke Machine party last year, it was one of craziest night we never had. Edanticonf  [ Eclipsemusic / Silent Season ] Italy

After coming back from Hamburg to his home city Turin, Edoardo Zerbinati totally reorganized his life, together with setting up a new studio in the town.

Back in that cloudy, rainy, romantic place where he was initiated to the Techno music culture, he saw the release of his debut album on Silent Season and, after that, the label has been selected as “label of the month” by Resident Advisor.

Some months later, the canadian label also put out an Edanticonf’s EP with a remix by the mysterious Sweden producer Abdulla Rashim. This collaboration on a limited vinyl was charted in the Top Techno Chart by some of the most important vinyl shops through the world.

All the textures in this set are written and produced by Edoardo Zerbinati with using mainly analog equipment (additional production by Iori and Decoside, remixed by Edanticonf). A lot of pieces of music are unreleased or played in a live version and due to this reason it’s not possible to attach a complete track list. The man and the perception of the infinite are the main themes of his compositions; Techno music lends itself to this goal with the integration of sounds inspired by natural landscapes.
