Our second release found us making the transition from an instrumental band to a vocal one.  The tracks are all intended to be our version of pop music.  To quote a fan "...like the Talking Heads and TV On The Radio at the same time"

In honor of Valentine’s Day and in anticipation of their forthcoming album Hands, Super Human Happiness has released a live mix tape featuring covers of love songs.

“The tunes are all songs from our youth in the 80s and might seem un-hip, but we aren’t being ironic. These songs first offered us glimpses into adult intimacy when we were just little dudes,” said band leader Stuart Bogie.

The band includes members who have been involved with acts ranging from Iron & Wine and Martha Wainwright to TV on the Radio and Antibalas, so it’s natural that the band would have such respect for the work of other musicians.

“We love the songs and the artists very much, and debated which songs to choose from their illustrious catalogs of emotionally charged sonic waterbeds,” said Bogie.

Superhuman Happiness was founded in 2008 to seek joy and love through shared rhythm and melody, composed and improvised.  To pursue a happiness greater than that of an individual. They have one CD, Stuart Bogie's Superhuman Happiness - Fall Down Seven Time Stand Up Eight, and two 45 records entitled GMYL/Hounds and Human Happiness (Electric Cowbell). Members are known for their work with Antibalas, the Sway Machinery, TV on the Radio, Battle Apples, The Phenomonal Handclap Band, Caural, The Roots, James Hunter, King Expressors, Passion Pit, Celebration, Holly Miranda, Iron and Wine, Foals and the inimitable MC Chris. The band regularly rehearses, composes, and records together, engaging in various improvisatory musical games currently being compiled for implementation in widespread applications.
