I had the opportunity to play at the legendary Mogra club in Japan with my friends from Anison Hijack and other friends from around the world. A long time ago I told myself that if I had a chance to play there, I wanted to play the song "Mogura" from Puffy because it sounded funny. 

The song needed some help so I tried to do a mashup with a Jack Ü track but I'm not good at production. I asked @lovelettersfromamsterdam for help and visited him in Minneapolis to work on it together. He's incredible to work with and very generous with his time and knowledge.

I played the song live at 170bpm because that's where it ended up in the mix but it's 160. When I was messing around in VDJ, I liked how the deep vocals sounded from bumping down the track a few keys but Ableton sounded very different so that was a struggle to match. Otherwise the vocal chops and the little dual pitch "Mogura" tag were things we had fun adjusting.
