Developer Animation Showcase [BGM]

An audio tape I dug up from my closet. Seems to be a very early draft of a Super Mario 64 commercial before the thing got delayed and this commercial was shelved.
Fun fact, I'm in this one. The voice saying "amazing" was me when I started out work. I wasn't very into it, as you can probably guess.

1995 Radio Ad

A showcase of old renders I've managed to find. This would have gone up sooner, but the project file corrupted itself partway through and I had to recover what was left of it and finish it off.

The first track is an early Slider theme done by my friend Takeshi from the music department based off the sheet music Kondo faxed to us. I coded the track into the game myself. It's a shame I can't find a build with it, so this quality will have to do.

The second track is a very early test of a Boo House song. This is dated very early in development, way before Spaceworld '95. We ported lots of songs from Super Mario World and gave them our own twists, but this ended up being dropped in favour of a new one. I think it may have existed up until the end of development, however I'm unsure of that.

The last track is a remix of the Bowser theme from Super Mario Bros. I don't know who made this, but it comes from the same time period as the previous track.

Track 1 is a slightly earlier version of the main theme. It's extremely similar to the version heard in the public demo, but has some slight differences.

Bob-Omb Battlefield (Early)

Track 2 is an earlier version of the Wing Cap theme, dated around 1994. Don't know too much about this one, but it was Kondo's earlier attempt
at arranging the Yoshi's Island starman theme.

Powerful Mario (Early)

Track 3 is actually dated a few weeks before Spaceworld, it's a variant of the Metal Mario theme made after the Starman powerup was canned.

Track 4 is a much earlier variant of the boss theme. This was done as a rearrangement of Kondo's boss theme by me, but it wasn't liked by management so it was scrapped. From what I know, this was one of the few tracks that was worked on by someone other than Koji Kondo.

Track 5 is just a version of the jingle that plays when a Star appears.

[UPDATE: So you guys bruteforced the 7z, found that the password was "casey", and that the contents were scans of documents belonging to me, along with a music track.

Today something really strange happened, and I’m still trying to think of what to do.

Meg and I went out to the shops today to spoil ourselves a bit after the last few uploads. We haven’t been going out much, and most of our time has been spent playing games on her Switch over the last week or so. We had a chat last night about what to do the next day, and we both decided it would be good to slack off a bit, so we went to the shops to grab some snacks and have a party. Meg bought Mario 3D All Stars (much to my dismay) and we ended up playing until the end of the night, both of us falling asleep rather soundly under a pillow fort (It was cool, trust me).

This morning, we both sat outside on her porch (after me floating face down in the pool to scare her) and ate lunch. It was when Meg turned to me and mentioned a phone call she got at her current place of work a couple of days ago that caught my attention. The person on the other end, for some reason, didn’t speak at all. All she could hear was heavy breathing and what sounded like scribbling, and then the phone hung up. I told her to pay no attention to creeps like that. I sensed her panic and calmed her down, and we both headed back inside to sit down and watch TV.

Up until just now, our night had been fine. We both sat down, played some games, and listened to some 80s pop CDs. We had ordered takeout, and it just so happened that while I was eating, an email popped up onto my phone screen. It was from some throwaway address, and the subject line was a single period. The contents of the email were a password-locked 7z file, and the phrase “Do you know what this is?”. Me and Meg were puzzled, but soon after, the realization dawned on me that someone had gotten ahold of my personal email.

My suspicion is it’s the same person that tried logging into my account recently. I’ve uploaded the file at https://dropbox.com/s/xzblf88lv636jpk if anyone wants to try figuring the password out. Meg and I are stumped, so help would be appreciated.
