Back for another round, Philadelphia edit heavyweights @superprince1 are pulling no punches on their 2nd EP for @razor-n-tape. Coming out of the corner hot, they go straight for the knockout punch with 'TKO Dance,' a pulsing Italo groove with sensual vocals, then get dreamy and wide-eyed with 'Keep It Real.' The B-side leads off with the kitschy yet eminently playable 'You Are Here,' and they deliver a final body blow in the bouncey boogie of 'Special Sauce.'

Using the same ancient Mayan technology that accurately predicted the end of the world in 2012, we figured out what the world's number one New Year's resolution would be back in October.  It was, hands down to "Make love and watch the sunrise". After discovering this, we set out to make a track that would encourage people to make love and watch the sunrise. This is the fruit of our labors; with it's slowly rising synths and the undercurrent bassline, it is a persuasive house essay written with an abandoned record and a Roland JX8P.

Sunrise

With extremely accurate predictive Mayan technology, we created an algorithm that would predict the most "hype" words in 2014. Then we cross referenced our findings with every tweet ever made while drunk, compiled the results into a massive spreadsheet, pumped the 707 full of steroids, tuned the fundamental of the sub to "futuristic" and made this track. Listen to find out what the most "scientifically" "hype" words of 2014 will be!

"Philadelphia Maneto," the city of Philadelphia's motto, translates as "Let Brotherly Love Endure." In this spirit of togetherness, Young Robots label chief DJ Apt One curates a compilation of the Philadelphia and New Jersey area's eclectic and talented underground electronic and dance acts. From established acts Pink Skull and Todd Edwards (Daft Punk collaborator and half of Lux & Edwards) to local favorite DJs Billy W and Shawn Ryan (half of Superprince) to indie dance bands Nicos Gun and The Downtown Club, this record shows the depth and diversity of the scene. DJ Apt One remixes three live acts on the compilation, with an assist on the saxophone from his frequent collaborator, Fools Gold's Sammy Bananas. Instamatic, SAUR (My Techno Ways A Ton), aupl and mysterious house guru NITEWAX round out the record.

The tracks by Nicos Gun, The Downtown Club and Instamatic and their respective remixes by DJ Apt One will appear on a limited run vinyl release available in the Philadelphia area this summer and digitally via turntablelab.com.

Philadelphia's premier listener-supported radio station, WXPN FM, will co-sponsor the digital release, which will be available for free as well as through all Young Robots' usual digital sales outlets.

The release of the compilation will coincide with a July 18th concert on Philadelphia's Race Street Pier and a subsequent afterparty, featuring acts from Philadelphia Maneto.

Every one thousand years in the K. Hauenstein star system, on the planet Rogersnelson, a wormhole opens.  It leads directly from the planet's capital city of Bohannon to it's galactic sister city, Philadelphia on the planet Earth.  In the K. Hauenstein star system, music is a valuable currency and many wars are fought over it. It is said "He who controls the music, controls the universe". Almost two decades ago, the disco freighter HMS Sylvester was successfully destroyed by a marauding squadron of Imperial RIAA fighters.  Before the freighter exploded, two families loaded their only sons into escape pods and launched them into space. The pods drifted for days and the fate of the two young men was looking grim. On the fifth day, however, their luck shifted dramatically. The god of cosmic energy, Moroder, noticed their plight and set them forth on solar winds through the closing wormhole. After crashing in Philadelphia, the children emerged from their pods, looked at each other and said, "We are Superprince."  The collection of songs on this page are the efforts of Superprince to communicate in a new world, whilst paying homage to their alien homeland. Please enjoy the music, and if something seems off, cut them some slack - they are fucking alien orphans from the K. Hauenstein starsystem.
