Our second release of 2021 and a brand new artist that’s supplied it, we introduce you to ‘Haelix’.

Taking us back to the 2014/15 era of House music - bringing back those same emotions as Chris Lorenzo, Chris Gresswell & co’s old Jackin’ House tracks bought us all those years ago; it’s another sound that we couldn’t be prouder of releasing under our SUPSZE releases series.

Picking up support from more of our favourite DJs and producers, it’s refreshing to see our tracks impressing some of our most treasured artists around the world.

“The idea of ‘Comma’ was to create a dance track that not only had a solid drum groove and bassline, but that also had both melodic depth and emotion interwoven throughout.

At the time I was a few months into quarantine and had discovered Hans Glader and MPH. I was devouring their music like crazy, finding real inspiration in their ability to weave complex, jazzy melodies into house/garage beats. ‘Comma’ saught to capture exactly that, whilst including a sense of nostalgia that I was riding on at the time. 

A large majority of the synth sounds on this track are taken from an old electric piano I’d grew up with, something I recently discovered my parents still had. It’s a very special track to me, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it :) ” - Haelix

Marking our first release back after a near 6-month hiatus, Lug steps up for his second release on the platform…one that’s been putting a smile on our faces every second of this re-launch period.

It’s a side of music that we had, in a sense, neglected through our super-active 2020; one that we feel represents a substantial part of what we represent here at @SUPERSIZEUK. We’ll still be covering all of the layers of UK Bass, Bassline, UKG and DNB; however, the return to our true diverse range of sounds is our true focus throughout the remainder of 2021.

“Tellin' Me is a song I've been sat on for a while now. It was originally started in May 2020. This was in a period of transition with my music as I was moving from up-tempo, hard-hitting bass music to the more chilled and vibey aspect of house.

The original idea for this song was to make a track with all the energy of a 90's style trance/rave tune, with aspects of today's slower tempo tech house. With this side of the house scene not often utilising melodic vocals and synths, I saw this as an opportunity to fuse the two, something that impressed both myself and @SUPERSIZEUK.

I took massive inspiration from Bushbaby, Chris Lake and Chris Lorenzo with this song. Their ability to make so many different genres and to constantly grind out banger-after-banger has always impressed me, and they are in my opinion some of the best producers the world has to offer.” - Lug

Kent-based bass coniseuour Myles, aka @MPH-UK, has built himself upon a back catalogue of hard-hitting basslines and vibesy UKG two step productions. With recent releases on @Crucast, @BingoBass and more, alongside having his track “Say It” put in the notourious Kiwi Cuts playlist curated by UKGs saving-grace @Conducta, there’s no doubt that MPH is set for a big year.

Repping Canterbury, Kent across the UK as well as travelling internationally to gigs in the likes of Czech Republic; we’re sat wondering what they’ve put in the water down in the South-East to be pumping names like MPH out, alongside already established king-pins @Shapeshq and @Skepsisproducer. If you’re yet to hear the name MPH, I’d get learning it quickly as we’re sure you’ll see him popping up more frequently in the next 12 months!
