I also often have lucid dreams. A dream with a clear outline like this song. But the events are ambiguous and the meaning is slightly strange. When you wake up, this song that confines your dreams is very nice.

This is the first movement of four in From the Bottom of a Well (Från botten av en brunn) based on Haruki Murakami's novel Kafka on the Shore. The the sounds were designed from, and the music was written from a grounded theory analysis of the book. The piece was performed on the 16th of December 2021 by Robert Ek, clarinet; Kevin Kirs Verstege, cello; and Rikard Vilhelm Lindell, eurorack at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Shuoshi rebelled against the principles of emotional detachment in haiku, which he thought limited his ability to emotionally express himself through poetry: he started a magazine called Staggerbush which focused on a more romantic, lyrical type of haiku.
