Session 023 - Bassie

Bassie is the known owner of Amplitude Records, the infamous records store in The Hague. In his hours and hours of listening and playing vinyl in the store and at home, he made this beautiful selection of downtempo gems. Besides the record store, Bassie co-founded Elastic The Hague, a collective that indulges in organising events. We are very grateful for our friendship and collaboration and are excited for the future!

New podcast alert! This one is a live cut by Phil Simon from our latest gathering at Sandershaus Garten. He took over in the early afternoon, capturing the grey and moody atmosphere with a very elegant track selection and a stripped-back mixing style. Well-placed rhythms guide the set into a gentle drive with a touch of introspection.

Today marks one year since the last (ever?) edition of @waha-festival, where I had the opportunity to play the lovely Aural stage. Even though the rain came just when the first record started playing, it turned out to be one of my favourite moments selecting music, surrounded by friends all huddled together listening to the sound of pouring rain and beautiful songs. Fortunately the whole thing was recorded so I'm glad to have a token from that happy time and to be able to share it with anyone who cares to listen.
