From learning piano and violin at an early age, music has always been at the centre of Rayomand's world. Since a 2019 debut for Submarine Vibes, the Kolkata-based producer quickly went on to establish himself on the Particles roster with two original EPs in the shape of March 2020's "Feelings" and August 2021's "Running Away". Now returning to the label, Rayomand delivers a stunning aural diptych. "Dance of Spring" is a beautifully melodic opening that flourishes in glorious sonic technicolour through warm pads and spiky synth stabs that are softened with a cascading delay. An air of subtle melancholy is provided by a free-flowing piano and glassy keys backdrop while a twinkling arpeggio and rasping synth take centre stage at the mid-point. Anchored by a heavy beat and metronomic off-beat hats, the track is a joy to behold. The more rhythmic-centred "Wilderness Waltz" quickly hits its stride with its deep kick and deeply pulsating pads / bass combination. Heavily sidechain-compressed throughout, the arpeggiated motif from the title track emerges in filtered fashion, providing an elegant dancefloor character that is complemented further by an immaculately programmed, rolling percussive groove.

No stranger to the Proton catalogues with his work for Proton Music that includes his "Jinsei / Zen State" and "Conviction / Reverse Call" EPs in October 2020 and July 2023, Sebastian Sellares is a welcome Particles returnee. Also a regular on the likes of Anjunadeep and GMJ & Matter's Meanwhile, a single remix of Alan Cerra's "Orbital" marked the Argentinean's only Particles appearance in in July 2023. Now returning with a second reworking, Sebastian Sellares takes "Dance of Spring" and creates a typically powerful and intelligent interpretation redolent in the hallmarks of his production technique. Flipping the original on its head, a dark and brooding bassline that echoes the piano chords of the original drives powerfully forward while a sparkling stepped synth motif flows effortlessly atop. Combined with a chunky rhythm groove and ticking hats, Sebastian Sellares shows the full gamut of his production talents.

An Argentinean star with music featured on such esteemed imprints as AMITABHA, Where The Shadow Ends and Paul Hazendonk's Manual Music, Bodai is another welcome returning Particles artist. An accomplished pianist with support from Nick Warren, Guy J and Eelke Kleijn, a debut remix of Ric Niels' "Finding Myself", in December 2022, now sees a second remix for the label. Reinterpreting "Wilderness Waltz" the Bodai remix is characterised by an intricate and dynamic rhythmic backdrop and huge sub-bassline groove. Building on the elements from Rayomand's original, a stereo-panned vocal intonation adds further interest while a beautiful free-flowing sequence at the breakdown creates sonic tension before the head-shaking groove is brought back in through the final movement.

Gliding through the wilderness with a "Dance of Spring", Rayomand finds further warmth from Sebastian Sellares and Bodai.

The age of “Envy” is brought into sharp focus with metronomic rhythmic force. Hypnotic and alluring, shakers fill the air with timing and precision while rippling keys add lightness of touch soaked in reverberated reflections and exquisite melancholy.
