Born in the dark streets of Cairo, grown to the unforgettable forests of Santa Esmeralda, spending its teen years in Bombay and Tangier markets, mature into the deep spacey Jungle of Ghana we proudly present you a new label from the land of the pyramids: SHANGO RECORDS invites you to an unheard world music psychedelic trip: like through a colorful kaleidoscope we will melt down Indian and Pakistani Vibes, Arab-Tek and Oriental groovy vibes, Afro-Beat rhythms n' pieces, Cumbia Tropicana flavors and cosmic Ghetto-Latin vibes into forbidden sounds of frenzied electronic dancefloor rituals. Outside traditional paths these driving grooves and polyphonic structures take the adventure seeking dancer to Dionysian highs and places never been before.

And so we started out into the night, down towards the waterfront where there was the sound of music and shouts and drunken oaths, he was talking quietly all the while about this and that, about a girl he had fallen in love with. From that he switched back to the Baron de Charlus and then to Kurtz who had gone up the river and got lost. His favorite theme. I liked the way he moved against this background of literature continuously; it was like a millionaire who never stepped out of his Rolls Royce. There was no intermediate realm for him between reality and ideas. When we entered the whorehouse on the Quai Voltaire, after he had flung himself on the divan and rung for girls and for drinks, he was still paddling up the river with Kurtz, and only when the girls had flopped on the bed beside him and stuffed his mouth with kisses did he cease his divagations. Ka:lu escaped from the empty land with his Arp and took the nowhere’s road. This is his second offering for Shango Records. These tracks can teach you how to give beauty to the people. Kaöb, DIBIDABO, AmuAmu, Chomba and Zuma Dionys are giving love and beauty and warm feelings in their own unique way.

PAAX (Tulum) returned to Sirin Music with another solo release ¨Senses¨. Latin American artists and producers, world travelers and fusion rhythms lovers, faithless about their latin roots, PAAX (Tulum) has achieved a very own sound. Thanks to different cultural musical influences and the assembly of natural instruments, with electronic bases and experimental nuances, the reason that has led them to perform at the best festivals and music parties around the world, with the support of great artists. 

The titled track was recorded in collaboration with electronic music artist from Austria — Stefan Obermaier who has built a name with his remarkable solo releases that have been played by some of the biggest DJs in the business and constantly appear in club charts internationally. The closest description of the sound of ¨Senses¨ is a leisurely organic house slow-burning under the scorching rays of the southern sun. A perfect soundtrack to mellow on the dancefloor.

Take me higher is our next release on Pipe & Pochet by Pandhora. It is an ode to escaping a world that is falling apart. This track is a straightforward critique of modern society. There is hope elsewhere, beyond Earth, so why not explore? It is meant as a positive statement focused on space exploration. The second track Moonlight is about contemplating the moon and the stars above. It's about being more present and self-aware. One can reach self acceptance and explore its consciousness to go through life and modern times in a happy and positive way. Both tracks propose a way to deal with one's inadequacies to modern existence. On one hand, it's possible to search for another planet to live on. On the other hand, one could search for peace within and accept the flaws of society through contemplation and experience awe in nature, particularly when looking up to the skies on a clear night. The tracks in this EP have been remixed by Hrag Mikkel and Jerry Spoon.

There is an opinion that the song “Qele Lao” (Let’s go my son), was created after the Armenian Genocide and expresses a lamenting conversation of a grandfather with his grandson, who has lost homeland and describes his longing for it. However, we think that this is wanderers’ song and comes from earlier times. 
In the VII century, Armenia fell under the yoke of Arab caliphate, which was replaced by the reign of Seljuk Turks, and after the fall of Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine empire (1453), Ottoman Turks settled in the region. During all this time, Armenian peasants were in poor state, they paid very high taxes and the goods they created were snatched or bought with very low price. 
That’s why they were often in debt and in order to pay it they had to leave for foreign countries to earn money. But in other countries they were aliens, didn’t feel well, the people and culture there were different, they were not understood, were exploited, alone. 
This song is a an appeal of such a peasant who with sorrowful heart turns to his son to go to homeland to see their native village, their mountains. The alien Armenian fancies tetraxes playing with one another, swallows flying in the sky, then mountains and rocks on their slopes as if being rock tears, shed for the peasants who have left their homeland. He sees in his mind his parents who, despite being poor, live better in the homeland. 
The last stanza was added probably later because different Armenian cities are mentioned, Moush, Van, Sassoun. And in answer to his father’s “Let’s go my son, let’s go to homeland,” the son answers, “Let’s go father, let’s go to homeland
This state of Armenian peasants aggravated during the years of Armenian Genocide, driving them away with more intensity from their millennial cradle. This is the reason that this song is most sung after genocide when Armenians again left for foreign countries, where they are deprived of warm and careful treatment on the part of their relatives and countrymen and undergo whimsical treatment on the part of foreigners. And the realization of the loss of homeland makes their state more miserable. Having grown old in foreign countries they dream of going back to their homeland with their grandsons and introduce them the wonderful beauty, water and soil, and magnificent buildings in the native country.

This is another collaboration between the artists Zigan Aldi and @monohole from the black sea, this time with vocal support by Ezgihan. Goats Notes are a reference to Zigan Aldis childhood, of going as a shepherd with his family and their herds through the wide and sunny landscapes of east turky and listening just to the sounds of the goats, sheeps echoing between the mountains and the endless universe. Ezgihan is fulfilling this track with her beautiful voice and bringing the touch of old and melancholic reminiscing into this piece of music.
