JUNO Review:
Extremely limited, only 300 copies of this 12 minute dub wig-out have been pressed and they've promised no represses and certainly no digital. Cosmic with a heavy lolloping bass plod (think Norway's burgeoning sound in the mid noughties) expect to be completely washed out by shimmering oceanic guitar strums that sound like a really slo-mo, heavily processed sample of Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" (but probably aren't). 
As the groove spirals into hypnotic bliss, the 12 minutes pass with a blink of the eye. 
Deliciously deep; Even a 30 minute edit of this wouldn't be long enough.

Just what you want to hear if you see HARVEY at 3am: a 12-minute long, deep, dubby, trippy, hypnotic disco workout that fuses guitar licks with chunky drums. 
It’s one of those tracks you’re already loving before the vocal drops in, meaning when it does a dancefloor orgasm isn’t out of the question.

For Live At Robert Johnson's and Riotvan's collaborative EP exceptional artists Rebolledo and Roman Flügel team up to deliver the A1 of the five tracker, that also contains works from Fort Romeau & Panthera Krause, Jennifer Touch & Chinaski, New Hook & Perel, Horkheimer & Gregor Habicht & Peter Invasion and the initially mentioned piece Star Stuff from Roman and Mauricio. With their bubbly synth-disco club-take the artists deliver a heavily addictive as well as dynamically dancefloor decoder as if neither one of the artist had done something different. However, it's been a moment since Rebolledo last put some music out, either under a solo alias or the Pachanga Boys, contrary to Roman who just released his eigth album Eating Darkness on Gerd Janson's Running Back label. Having both artist collaborating on one piece is invariably something exquisite and owed to the fusing artistical environs for this special release – And You?

Sónar is proud to offer a premiere of the third single to be released from Perel's second album "Jesus Was An Alien" - due out on Kompakt on 13/05/2022.

'Am Kanal' is the closing track from the album, a slow-motion slice of italo-tinged electronic pop. Perel narrates a walk around an unnamed city in German, as the track builds from a gloomy, pulsing beat to a soaring crescendo of synths, the rain ceasing as daylight breaks through the clouds.

Perel appears at Sónar 2022 on Friday 17th June, going back-to-back to close Sónar by Night with Correspondant label head and partner-in-crime Jennifer Cardini.

Rebolledo explains - "Following some now cult releases on Multi Culti, Turbo Recordings (with the much-acclaimed “MZ”) and his recent LP “Lotos Land” on Japanese imprint Endless Flight, our favourite East-Berlin born Sascha Funke is back with a record on Hippie Dance’s sister label - You And Your Hippie Friends.

I guess that some have you noticed my obsession with Sascha Funke’s music over the past years since it is an essential part of my DJ sets. After taking a pause in his solo work in order to focus his attention on his amazing band project Saschienne together with Julienne Dessagne (AKA Fantastic Twins, also his partner in life), he came back with a really cool EP on Kompakt Records which I played over and over and left me wanting more. Being close friends gave me the luxury of having access to his material before others and when I would visit the coolest couple in Berlin, Sascha would always play me his new tunes in the car while rolling through the city. Every time I would ask for those tracks to play out and in the club, people that I would play with would often ask who was behind them, as it happened with TIGA one night in Cologne, which eventually led to Sascha’s music being released on Turbo Recordings and Multi Culti the following months. 

Now I finally got the chance and honour to release a Sascha Funke EP on our own humble label… ACATENANGO. Like every time, it all started with me visiting Berlin, Sascha playing his new material while cruising around on board of his German car, me getting in trance while listening to it, asking for it and playing it right away in my next sets.

Three super cool tracks, all very different from each other but somehow connected with the inimitable Funke touch. Powerful yet elegant, hypnotic yet fun, brutal yet sophisticated.
