Smiley Fingers is glad to welcome the long time hero of Mobilee Records, Mr. Ray Okpara.

After releases on 8Bit, Cecille, Oslo and Get Physical, the half-Nigerian roots artist brings his unique and recognizable sound made of rhythmical productions and hypnotic atmospheres on Smiley Fingers, with a tasty ep titled “Terryroad”.

The ep consists of three tracks, the first is the original mix of “Terryroad”, with funky grooves, rolling percussions, and a freaky lead.

Digging deep into the pack, you’ll find an energetic reinterpretation of the title track by Larry Cadge, with a tight groove loaded for the dancefloor.

Third and last track is “Puma Suade”, a jazz infused tune with a sleazy bassline and an irreverent lead melody, with the featuring of Tobias Neugebauer.

Appearing on Innervisions, Planet E, Dirtybird and Hot Creations, Tom Flynn’s discography is impressive to say the least. His studio abilities have seen him work alongside Roger Sanchez, Steve Lawler and Pete Tong, with the latter awarding Flynn as ‘Best Breakthrough Producer’ and an Essential New Tune on BBC Radio 1. Flynn also helms his own label, Into Orbit, which he uses as a platform for his own releases, not to mention a bi-weekly syndicated radio show called Night At The Black. He now joins Hottrax, following releases by DJ Sneak & Tripmastaz, David Keno, System2 and Dateless.

‘Space’ instigates proceedings with a swooping bass and shuffling hi-hats, under bubbling atmospherics and infectious vocal cuts, before ‘Xfer’ delivers abstract low end sound design churning around the stereo field on a steady beat. Finally, ‘Multiband’ offers a climbing bass sequence manning glassy mid-range
textures.

This April, house and techno mainstay Loco Dice is stepping out with En Couleur, a brand new label reserved exclusively for his own music.

En Couleur, means "in colour" in French, and has been chosen because of the language's association with love, but also, says Loco Dice, because "colour stands for the diversity of cultures I absorb and artists I meet on my life journey. Lots of things I do in my life appear in colour. The music I produce is like my movie in technicolor, and the music I play is sorted by colour in my crates and folders."

En Couleur is about music that will not be controlled by traditional plans and strategies. It is for music that will be shared as and when it is ready, and will become a platform for all sorts of collaborations with friends and different artists. Of course, the Dusseldorf man behind it has already accomplished so much, from critically acclaimed albums and EPs on his Desolat label to sell out world tours, major label releases and plenty of key residencies. He has long been synonymous with a big, hard hitting house and techno sound that is well informed by his life-long love of hip hop, and with this new label proves he is as keen as ever to evolve, adapt, and explore new musical forms.

En Couleur launches with a superb solo EP from Dice himself, then keeps up a busy rate of release with four further EPs planned before the end of the year. The first offering opens with 'Sweet Nectar Blossom', a fresh track with jazzy chords and well swung bass that gets you in the groove. Muffled vocal sounds and clipped keys all bring a late night feeling of romance and playfulness. 'Kanak Funk' has crisp Chicago drums run through with woozy pads and thoughtful keys. It's a deep, hugely atmospheric track that is as much for the headband heart as the heel. Last of all, 'Believe In Me' is another lush house track with spiritual leads that drift off to the heavens and smooth drums and bass that brim with real warmth and soul.
