Much like the two countries newfound relationship, the Ifrit EP collaboration between Morocco’s Amine K (@aminek) and Tel Aviv’s Kadosh (@kadoshofficial) has been a long time in the making.

Started some six years ago during a period of intense and prolific musical output from Amine K, it ultimately was last year’s lockdown that offered the perfect opportunity to revisit and refresh the project, this time inviting Kadosh to spin his own magic into its mythology drawing DNA. The result is a distinct synergy of style, substance and sound – from, Amine K’s ever smile inducing approach to Kadosh’ cutting edge melodies, Ifrit represents both a musical and cultural alliance, and a representation of what is possible within the electronic music underground.

Amine K has been Morocco’s unquestioned ambassador of underground electronic music, planting both its flag and that of the wider underground everywhere from his annual Burning Man appearances to his own globetrotting Moroko Loko events. His fusion of African influence and deep digital rhythms have selectively graced labels like Sol Selectas, Aeon, and Get Physical Music, with an unrestricted flair for universal happiness. With Amine K - the veteran - on hand, Kadosh represents something of the opposite industry trajectory. His whirlwind 36 month rise to the top of Israel’s competitive nightlife scene has now found him an internationally recognized talent. His productions have been selected by everyone from John Digweed to Solomun, while featuring on the likes of Watergate Records, Innervisions, Disco Halal, and more. Not to be outdone, his own Frau Blau Music has been steadily making headway with its own respected release schedule.

This dynamic combination makes Ifrit a perfectly balanced two tracker. The shifting nature of the eponymous track draws from supernatural influence, where the creature of its mystical origins inhabits bodies and minds as listeners get lost within its relentless percussion and psychedelic stabs. Then, not to be outdone in its own mythological origins, ever rising B-side Prometheus is a sonic representation of the Titan fire god. As a champion for humankind, Prometheus’ offerings of fire to Earthly dwellers is one of selflessness and striving, qualities that drive both artists in their own careers and lives.

The names included along the way are largely exciting new producers from all over the world, including Spain, Argentina, Turkey and Italy, you can expect a blend of different sounds and cultures that make this album a timeless piece from start to end. 

First to go is Djolee, an argentine producer who has popped up on MoBlack and Connected before now. His highly anticipated single 'Bamboozle', is an organic house piece characterized by Latin and Arabic influences that take us on a cultural journey. Perfect for dancing under the sunlight and that will do wonders to your mind on the dancefloor. 

Adrian Roman, who inaugurated the first volume of Masterpieces early this year, is back on the label to present his excellent single 'Trapez', a slow pomp through radiant chords and glassy melodies that are dark in a most beautiful way. 

Next is Ayala (IT), making his first appearance on the label offering 'Cosmic Bouzouki', a crunchy and groovy bit of downtempo with very seriously crafted bass notes and melodies that are rich and musical. 

Finally, Turkey's Marc Gonen is also making his debut on the label with a mind-blowing single called 'Passion Symphony', a waste of emotive keys and charming synths that dig deep into our minds. '

About the EP-
In love for the god of agni
Agni is a Sanskrit word meaning fire and connotes the fire god of Hinduism.He is also the guardian deity of the southeast direction and is typically found in southeast corners of Hindu temples. In the classical cosmology of the Indian religions, Agni as fire is one of the five inert impermanent elements (pañcabhūtá) along with space (ākāśa), water (ap), air (vāyu) and earth (pṛthvī), the five combining to form the empirically perceived material existence (Prakriti).
In Vedic literature, Agni is a major and oft-invoked god along with Indra and Soma. Agni is considered the mouth of the gods and goddesses and the medium that conveys offerings to them in a homa (votive ritual). 
He is conceptualized in ancient Hindu texts to exist at three levels, on earth as fire, in the atmosphere as lightning, and in the sky as the sun. This triple presence connects him as the messenger between gods and human beings in the Vedic thought.The relative importance of Agni declined in the post-Vedic era, as he was internalized and his identity evolved to metaphorically represent all transformative energy and knowledge in the Upanishads and later Hindu literature. 
Agni remains an integral part of Hindu traditions, such as being the central witness of the rite-of-passage ritual in traditional Hindu weddings called Saptapadi or Agnipradakshinam (seven steps and mutual vows) as well being part of Diya (lamp) in festivals such as Divali and Aarti in Puja
