'CASOMAT006 is the ‘White Spring’ EP - two originals by Swiss producer Normen Hood and remixes by Deckert and Lerm & Hamoon. Based in Zürich, Normen Hood cites the mountains and rivers around his home as the inspiration for his music. And considering the consistent stream of quality output he produces, the inspiration is quite clearly (both literally and figuratively) flowing.

The two originals on the EP, ‘White Spring’ and ‘Luna’, both show Normen’s aptitude for melodies, with both being built around their own respective centrepiece synth-lines. White Spring’s is a looping arpeggio, almost disorientating at points, with the main motif being reflected and flipped and delayed and played back from all directions. Luna starts slow and gradually builds, teasing at what’s to come for a good 4 minutes, before finally opening up into a huge pad - lush & expansive and completely enveloping the listener.'

Hamoon & LERM - land on Nightcolours Recordings with Mirage (Incl. Ian Ludvig and Philip Auster & Bumppo Remixes). 

Two big originals, kicking of with 'Mirage', a spacious and tripped out deep groover, that has some fierce stabs for pure power, and then some middle eastern flavours to add a air of mystery to proceedings. 

Ian Ludvig steps up on remix duties, famed for his works on Crosstown Rebels, RADIANT and Eleatics, he takes the energy and trippy vibes up a notch, as a fierce slab of intensity oozes out through this fine remix! 

The second original is 'Ritual', a dreamier melodic deep viber, with a musical darker slant, yet still delivering some warmth. 

And the final remix sees Frau Blau and MoBlack faves Philip Auster & Bumppo land on remix duties. This reworking is a mesmerising melodious affair, with its spacious and hazy vibes flowing throughout, while still keeping it solidly chunky.

Hamoon & LERM - Mirage (Ian Ludvig Remix)

'Darksidevinyl makes his debut on Steve Lawler’s eVIVE Records label with ‘Black Brain / Aziza’.

Hailing from Egypt and based in Vienna, Darksidevinyl is an artist with formidable talent. Creating a fusion of contemporary Afro Sounds with progressive and captivating melodies, he’s an artist with one foot in the current and one step forward taking a totally fresh direction. Producing since 1998 and spinning a long time before, Darksidevinyl has won over many of his local clubs and events in an international level, Pacha and Privilige in Ibiza as well as being part of the Ministry of Sound network. He excites music lovers and dancers with his special blend of Afro-Melodic to melodic techno sets. With a release schedule that reads like a who’s who of record label royalty for his musical style, it includes Sony Music, MoBlack, Yoshitoshi, Kittball, Selador, Connected Frontline, Monaberry, Go Deeva, Akbal Music and the list goes on so adding his debut release on eVIVE feels like a natural progression. 

Opening the double header, ‘Black Brain’ see’s the producer embrace his love of Afro House delivering a track commanded by flawless percussion. It takes us on a journey full of emotive moments centred around long build breakdowns heightening the anticipation of the drop which delivers on all levels with a symphony of synths leading the way keeping the energy moving and the listeners moving.   

‘Aziza’ takes a more laid-back melodic approach but don’t underestimate the energy this one brings with it. Percussive patterns work perfectly in unison with Spanish guitar lines and a saxophone that takes the track to new heights. We’re instantly transported to sunsets on the White Isle where the music unites us as one and this is the perfect soundtrack. 

This is the work of a producer who has been perfecting his craft overtime with precision and who consistently delivers with musical excellence. '
