The latest release on Future Avenue welcomes Dutch producer Nick van Gils back to the label with his "ILA EP." Nick made his debut last year as part of the Three Of A Kind series on our sister label 3rd Avenue. He has also released on Flug Lab and contributed several remixes to both Future Avenue and 3rd Avenue.

A passionate DJ and producer from the Netherlands, Nick van Gils has been immersed in music from a young age. His journey began on Dutch national radio, where he continues to work today. Having entertained crowds at numerous events and festivals since the age of 15, Nick's love for music naturally evolved into production. His tracks are known for blending infectious beats with beautiful melodies, marking him as a standout talent in the electronic music scene.

For the "ILA EP," the title track has received remixes from Christian Monique, Miguel Ante, and Ekis Ekis, adding unique interpretations that complement the original perfectly.

Pressure.

It’s easy for me to think it comes from the outside, as if an external force is weighing on my chest. Fear of something that might happen to me in the future—often without even knowing exactly what I’m afraid of. But the truth is, most of the time, the pressure comes from within me, projected onto the outside world. As if from some past self, not realizing that the feeling has little to do with present reality.

Under the right pressure, I can manifest things that I probably wouldn’t without it. But when it becomes too much, it can block me from actually doing the things I want. It’s a thin line, and navigating it can be difficult—I sometimes get caught up in it completely.

It’s asking me to set boundaries—not only towards others but, most importantly, for myself. And to do this, I first need to take ownership of it.

Try to see where it comes from, listen to it, relax into it, and use it to your advantage—as guidance in the right direction.

Pression

I do connect a lot of memories to this legendary track produced by Monoloc in 2016. It has been played by countless great artists including Tale Of Us in their early sets. Even through I produce and play Melodic Techno I have a passion for pure Techno with a dark vibe but still emotional. I gave Trysome a Melodic retouch to include it in my sets. A few months ago, we launched a remix contest for Franz Matthews’ track ‘Zero Gravity’ on Label Radar, and the response was nothing short of phenomenal. With over 30 submissions pouring in from around the world, several remixes were really standing out, making it hard to pick a winner. While we crowned Rezonite as the official winner -featured on our last release- , we couldn’t ignore and not support the outstanding talent and hard work of four runner-ups. That’s why we’re thrilled to welcome the brilliant reinterpretations of Elemental, Nikmind, Peter P, and You Liang to HIFI/LOFI!

Originally from Mexico City and now based in Playa del Carmen, Emiliano Perez (aka Peter P) is a staple at the iconic Electrica and Danza Futurista parties. With just 3 years of production experience, he kicks off the remix package with an electrifying Indie Dance belter, packed with playful synth escapades.

Hailing from Tokyo, You Liang, transforms ‘Zero Gravity’ into an irresistibly groovy Tech-House weapon. With a background in acapella as a tenor, they developed a sharp ear for harmony and structure, seamlessly transitioning into DJing and electronic music production. Their unique style blends genres fluidly, earning them sets in major clubs across Japan and Korea.

A veteran of the Washington DC Electronic scene, Elemental has been spinning house, progressive, and breaks since the late '90s. After a hiatus, he reignited his passion during the pandemic, transitioning into production, and here channeling his diverse influences into a remix that takes ‘Zero Gravity’ on a hypnotic journey through Progressive Trance, Acid House and Indie Dance.

Closing the EP with a deep, rolling, and hypnotic take, Nikmind brings his signature darker and progressive sound to the release. Born in Colombia and now based in the U.S., he already boasts an impressive catalog on labels like ICONYC Noir, Frequent, and Side Up Works. He also holds the title of Best DJ of the Year (2018) at STORYLAND Music Festival, and rounds up this EP gracefully with his thrilling reinterpretation.
