"The Curious Case of Bretfast Button"


Live recording of my set as part of the Sokosolirave @ the infamous Fundbureau Hamburg on April 28th.

I played it as the closing set of Bummelbar from 04:00 - 07:00 am and my idea was to "buttonize" the common way of how to build up a set in terms of progression,  velocity and a raising energy level. 
It starts at a personal high for me around 110 bpm, with a constant relief from there to what I refer to as bummelbounce in the low 90s area. 

I liked the approach, had a lot of fun and definitely felt younger in the morning, lol...

“La Dj”, a nickname given by close friends, was introduced to the art of DJing in 2005 by established musicians and DJs who noted her distinguished taste in music and understanding of musical theory, which La Dj likens to the many years she sang in National Honor Choirs in the United States and later in the National Symphonic Choir of Costa Rica.
La Dj learned to spin vinyl playing the Trance and Progressive House genres. After less than a year, La Dj began playing at several venues and events across Atlanta, Georgia, and was soon thereafter invited to join a recognized DJ crew in Atlanta, wherein she was one of the only two female DJs.
After several life-altering experiences, La Dj took an extensive hiatus from DJing. She eventually found inspiration again and returned to DJing with a different fervor birthed by years of silence in which La Dj began experimenting with Deep House, Deep Tech House, and eventually Downtempo. 
Although no longer strictly spinning vinyl, La Dj continues to mix freestyle and impromptu. Currently, La Dj is focusing on podcast recordings and playing local events and has plans to continue singing and eventually producing.

Our Way Through Processes is @arilumusic's first album after EP releases such as Lemuria and Era of Harmony and contains work from the last 4 years.

The album reflects a long journey through all the ups and downs, emotions, thoughts, all facets of the artist's life, but at the same time it contains a wide spectrum of healing frequencies and songs.

The intention of this album is to let the listener feel/experience their conscious/unconscious serving but also no longer serving emotions, with the aim of feeling or letting go of them in peace and harmony.

They can put you into a kind of trance or meditative state.

They touch us when we listen attentively to the sounds, experience them as a sound journey, e.g. for ecstatic dances, for quiet inner reflection or dream journeys etc.
