● In the past, JOPLYNs work has been reviewed positively by major publications such as Clash Magazine, Kaltblut Magazine, Musikexpress, Billboard Asia, Business Punk and DJ Mag.
Several songs were also featured on Spotify’s playlists such as: Off Pop, New Music Friday Germany & UK, Indie Radar, Gegen den Strom, Electronic Rising, Lowkey Tech, or Dance Brandneu... JOPLYN was also recently handpicked by the Spotify Editorial team to be featured in their SPOTIFY RADAR program which aims to bring exciting newcomer artists to an international audience.

● She also recently collaborated with electronic giants BOOKA SHADE again and is featured on their latest single “POLAR LIGHTS” which they co-wrote together and her last single “HOURGLASS” was a collaboration between her and Florian Kruse (Kompakt, Blaufield Music, Terminal M)

● For her new single “STILL RUNNING” Joplyn teamed up with British producer MADE BY PETE to deliver a clubby melodic house & techno song with emotional vocals and also a more deep and electronica version.

● MADE BY PETE Bio:
Born & Raised in London UK, James has been writing, producing and Doing for 16 years. Now DJ’ing and producing under the guise of Made By Pete, his work has been snapped up by taste-making labels like Crosstown Rebels, Gruuv, Yoshitoshi and Kerri Chandler’s MadTech Records.
- His 2018 ‘So Long EP’ featuring Jem Cooke topped the Beatport Deep House chart and featured remixes from Solomon & Audiojack. The EP also received heavy rotation from Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1. His music is regularly supported by key players like Damian Lazarus, Sasha, Hot Since 82, Kolsch, Eats Everything, Matthias Tanzmann and Joris Voorn to name a few.
- As a DJ, he has performed all over the world from Space Ibiza to Chinese Laundry in Sydney, Thailand’s infamous Full Moon Party and at home in the UK at Fabric, Studio 338, Brixton Academy, Egg, and Birmingham’s Rainbow Venues.

● Music Commentary:
The song starts off very moody with eerie pads and light percussion. The broken beat kicks in and a low sub bass sets the tone while piano chords push the melancholic vibe surrounding the emotional depth of Joplyn’s vocals. In the breakdown a vibey arpeggiated synth line starts to build, slowly taking over the groove and finding its peak with the high falsetto vocals of the main chorus.
In Pete’s Other Mix the song takes a more club-ready approach with a solid tech-house beat setting the tone. A deep one-chord stab filters in and the percussion starts to develop, vocal snippets fade in and out and create a techy vibe. More synth lines enter before the main chord stabs make the track bigger and bigger in the breakdown and the following ramp. The massive beat kicks back in with more vocal chops and piano swirls and the song comfortably grooves into the night...

● Lyric Commentary:
“Still Running” centers around the topic of past identity - whether identity is static or fluid. Joplyn sings about wanting to “run away from [many faces] that once carried [her] name.” Losing touch with the image and expectations of yourself that were once an integral part of you. Fearing change.
