Bootie mashup

This year's Best of Bootie Mashup feels a bit more special than previous years, mostly because when I look at the producers here, I realize that not only have these people done superlative mashup work in 2021, but most of them are also active participants in our global-yet-still-small mashup scene. 

They aren't just producing tracks in a bubble, trying to get hits with the YouTube or TikTok algorithm. They are collaborating and sharing their love of mashup culture, not with just the world, but with each other, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it be in the ChatPod of our Twitch channel, in the Crumplbangers Discord, or on other social media channels, I haven't felt this sense of kinship with my fellow mashup creators since the early ’00s days of the GYBO message board.

So it's with great excitement that we present this year's collection of mashups of some of the biggest hits of 2021, curated by myself, Jupiter Gatling, and DJ Tyme, with input from some of the other DJs on the Bootie Mashup team, as well from the BootieMashup Twitch ChatPod – in particular, the "mashup roundtable" who participate in my Mashup Listening Party livestream every Wednesday.

Terrible doesn't have an elaborate metaphor here, it just made this because it was sick of writing music about its feelings and shit, and just wanted to dance around in its room. This is a return to why Terrible started making music in the first place: to make people smile while not making any sense. It is the absolute best Terrible can possibly do, and it hopes you dance ur ass off for an hour straight. 

This is about as far as Terrible can go with samples before it's no longer making "mashups," and is instead just making stream of consciousness absurdity. It's got so much shit going on that most of it is completely unrecognizable, it contains everything but doesn't quite sound like anything. It's a blurry memory of the insane amount of music everyone gets to consume every single day. 
It is so Terrible it's ridiculous. 
It is Alpha Nail, so tear it to pieces, please.
