Lakh Lakh Vadhaiya on the Parkash Purab of Satguru Tegh Bahadur Sahib ji Maharaj, on 27th April 2016 (according to puratan bikrami calendar).

Today is the parkash purab of nauve patshah ji. This is the date in which Guru Ji was born on this earth, at Guru Ke Mehal, Amritsar. Guru Ji was given the name Tegh Bahadur by Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji (their father), and had immense bravery and great skill in swordsmanship. They were Guru for 10 years 7 months and 9 days. 

They defended the freedom of religion and worship for all, and made the ultimate sacrifice by giving their head to protect the Hindhu Dharam, a condition set by the mughals, whos aim was to forcibly convert all to islam. This is also the reason Guru Ji is referred to as Hind Di Chadar.

Salok Mahala 9 is composed by SatGuru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji and is on Ang 1426 in Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
