‘For home use only’ is an anti-club social, a chance to get to know someone/something. A series of transmissions purely dedicated to exploring the other side.

Hmmmm, I’m grappling with how much this episode means to me. Having Fia on here has been a dream from the conception of this series, a seed I planted years ago.  Now that the day is here it seems surreal. Fellow human beings and any other forms of life that are out there, I present to you For Home Use Only number 72 with Fia Fiell. 

Where to start? Fia Fiell aka Carolyn Schofield plays an essential role in not only my own personal understanding and appreciation of music but, I think I can safely say the same thing on behalf of the rest of Naarm if not humanity. A mainstay in our heads and hearts and bodies at Inner Varnika from the beginnings and hopefully till the end.  Her sense of crowd attunement is like none other, a demanding presence through her sonic sign language and her ability to push sound into a fourth if not fifth dimension. Her service to the scene is immeasurable, paving the way to a higher form of ambient landscapes and otherworldly sounds. Continuously pushing the boundaries and breaking apart the constructs as she consistently evolves, happily taking us all along for the ride. 

Completely dumbfounded, the sheer composition of this mix is a work of art itself. With an overarching sense of ecstatic rhythm, sprinkled with off kilter ideals, forming a beautifully rich tapestry of feelings and emotions on both ends of the spectrum. In a world where we all learn to exist with increasing numbness, there has not been a more important time to feel something. A heartfelt showcase of what’s inside the mind of Naarm’s greatest treasures. This is a walk through the forest at the crack of a cold dawn. The entire mix is full of astonishing moments, it’s time to find yours.  I will forever look to Fia as a source of inspiration and for that, I’m eternally grateful.

Honored to welcome UK-based Caldera to the series, a talented and multi-dimensional producer affiliated with several of our favorite labels along with his Well Street-associated Loop LF alias. A veteran of the rave circuit, Patrick’ Russell's sets are a testament to his legacy, knowledge and excellent tastes, taking him from house, techno IDM, acid and noise. A recap to a summer day in August with his recording from Dekmantel Festival 2018.

Plants Army Revolver is the duo formed by Marco Ragni and Valentin Birgan. The pair met in 2013 in Rome, while attending an electronic music course at Fonderie Sonore. After an almost immediate connection, the two promised each other to meet again in the studio for a joint jam session. For a series of reasons, this only ended to happen after two years.
In winter 2014, Marco and Valentin finally managed to get together and brainstorm: this was when the project Plants Army Revolver was born.
From here onwards, it followed several years of recordings and live sessions throughout Italy and Europe.
PAR’s sound is a constant balance between ambient and techno music, with tribal and hypnotic features, always pursuing musical investigation, research and experimentation through the use of modular synths and drum machines.
This is a live set we recorded exclusively for the occasion.
