SUBTLE MIND - SANTA ANA WIND EP [SURF015]

Our seventeenth release.

Belgian based Digid delivers a solid 4-tracker for SURF017 assisted by remixes from TMSV and Surfase Records boss, RDG. Combined, the six productions shape Cosmic Adventures; a futuristic and perfectionist set of forward thinking bass music.

Promise opens the EP on an dangerously aggy note, followed by digital stepper Mirage and its stretchy bassline, infiltrating breaks and alarming second drop.

Supernova takes a more bubbly path, boasting kaleidoscopic, trippy key stabs before Lifeline rounds off the original productions with dreamy ambience.

Conclusively, TMSV recrafts Lifeline with a dash of purple to transform the atmospheric piece into one for head nodders, and RDG drags Promise through the dark lab to apply his militant signature sound, which translates the already rude production into even ruder 85 bpm badness.

As we are entering the twentieth release, it’s time for yet another space journey through the mind of the Holland based producer Monti, with The Dark Matter EP.

Launching the EP with a dark atmospheric slowfast roller, with hints of hiphop, named after the moon 'Ganymede'. Moving to the title track 'Dark Matter' you get the feeling of floating into space.

Followed by 'The Philosopher', both full of colorful, but still moody vibes. To finalize the EP, We got 'Astral Pioneers', assisted by fellow space conquer Hitman. Again a dark rolling masterpiece, to set the mood right from start till end.

SURF021 is delivered by Croydon local, Dubliminal Records owner and decade-long contributor to the international bass scene, Cessman.

Three very diverse cuts make up his newest release on Surfase Records: Ponder’s threatening bassline and frisky drum pattern for the floor, Sleeping Giant for the introspective occasions and Under Pressure for whenever mankind decides to explore the deep, dark oceans of alien planets.

With a wide range of influences, especially from jazz and dub, Cessman has spent years shaping his sound and managed to consistently put out anthems, including 2006 classic “Kalawanji”, and we are thrilled to welcome him to Surfase Records for our 21st release.

Following a hiatus of almost half a decade, Danish bass heavyweight and Kraken Recordings co-owner, JSL aka. RUF, will release a new EP on Surfase Records mid-September this year.

Jannick S. Larsen, utilising his assortment of aliases, has been producing incredibly diverse music within dubstep, techno, hip hop, acid, house and more for over 20 years, and his new output on Surfase Records continues to extend his musical range.

The two tracks due for release are a set of 90-110 BPM dream realm rollers, thoroughly packed with nostalgia, purple synths, bits and bubbly, cruising bass lines. When space travel in 1980s Dodge cars becomes a reality, these jams will constitute the soundtrack.

Berlin’s shu graciously slangs a fleshy dose of dance floor serum to form the next release on Surfase Records: Molly Dub EP.

Between the trippy drum programming on The End, the choppy synths of F.A.B. and Molly Dub’s grimey unending come-up, the three tracks have caused wreckage from clubs across Germany to British and international radio stations.

With previous support from the likes of N-Type and Distance, and a continued build of productions that span widely across the entire spectrum of bass music, this German producer is one to keep on your radar. We’re thrilled to add shu to our constantly growing roster of bass artists from around the world, and eagerly anticipate his next output.

Our 29th release is delivered by Ghent-based ARtroniks in the shape of two shamanic lowblows, backed with a stormy remix job by Los Angeles producer Mershak.

Boasting close to a decade of production experience, ARtroniks has gradually built a solid international following and shaped the Belgian bass community, among other things through his Sub.FM show, releases on Biscuit Factory, Mindstep, and Dubtastic, and appearances at shows, clubs and festivals across Europe, including Tomorrowland and Rotation.

Along with ARtroniks, Mershak also debuts on Surfase Records. With support from the likes of Distance, N-Type, and Truth, he is slowly making waves and the pounding rework of ‘Run Dem’ backs his rank in the North American dubstep scene and abroad.

Dutch bass wizard, Dubbacle, delivers three cuts for Surfase Records’ 30th release, hazily sliding into atmospheric terrain with two pulsating, ambient-driven compositions on each side of title track Human.

For the EP’s opening track, Dubbacle produces an abstract, dazzling intro anthem in Lovelost, followed by the haunting female vocals, eerie baseline and dubbed out programming of Human.

The spectacular voyage of Transcendance closes off Human EP in a cold oscillating manner with over 7 minutes of meshing ambient harmonies, metallic soundscapes and chanting beats.

Following his split 12” with RDG on Circle Vision earlier this year, K Man debuts on Surfase Records with The Bubbles EP featuring British vocalist and rapper Janset.

Available both as an extended instrumental version and a vocal version with Janset on mic
duties, the hazy title track is a deep ride into the realm of bubbles, including all the decisions, demons, and delight that follow them, curated by Janset’s soothing vocal and tight bars.

Introspective Voyager takes a moodier turn while Regret rounds off the EP on a more sparkly note, properly inducing the anticipation for summer, both productions in signature K Man fashion with booming sub and captivating ambience.

Label boss RDG returns to Surfase Records with the third instalment of his Prototypes series. 

After initially appearing in his Future Bass Music Vol. 2 mix back in 2014, tracks Thank You and Dillinger finally see a release, both productions built for the floor with haunting stabs and gloomy basslines.
