Dan Kashtan is a producer/musician based in Tel Aviv, whose musical identity is shaped around his desire to express specific life experiences and convey a sense of spirituality through melody and sound design. Initially inspired by the melodic and emotive style of fellow Israeli trance legends, Astral Projection, his recent productions recall the explorations of artists such as Stephan Bodzin, Jan Blomqvist, Lauren Mia, HVOB and Christian Loffler. 

Kashtan’s debut on SRNDR is “Take Me Back”, an atmospheric melodic techno beauty that features stunningly crafted arpeggiated synths and an arrangement that takes listeners on a beautifully emotive journey. The track recalls a particular moment while travelling in Southeast Asia, aboard a yacht, surrounded by like-minded others who were there to live the moment, with good music, an open bar, a reddish sunset and everything else that makes a moment truly unforgettable. While writing the track, Kashtan drew inspiration from photos of that experience to capture the thrill of a journey full of mystery and beauty, in sound.

Promising a plethora of creative individuality from cover to cover, alias_j’s ‘Changes’ EP is a myriad of melodic prowess that showcases the depths of his productive capability as an artist. From sturdy 4/4 segments that are built for fired-up dancefloors to cinematic atmospherics and ethereal soundscapes, this collection of three unique tracks is an undeniable statement piece - bold, potentand fitting for an impactive debut.

Opening the release, ‘Dominion Rising’ presents in the form of an intergalactic voyage - lightly dusted with a bohemian tinge. Driving drums and shuffled percs meet a balance of subtle and boisterous melodic layers throughout. 

‘Moving Again’ follows, cutting a more rigid techno blueprint.
Pulsating drum work and sizzling hat grooves bounce off its percussive flair, intercepted by the perpetual ripple of more cathartic synth lines. Bringing the EP to a close, 

‘Difference Of Opinion’ ignites more of your primal senses with its temporal energy and rising emotions. Hypnotic in its rhythm and tonal elements, it is a firm choice if you’re looking for a late-night head-turner that will
sweep a crowd off its feet.
