Otoria is Vincent Seguin, a French producer who took his first steps in music as a member of a Paris-based DJ collective playing in some of the most iconic clubs of the capital, such as Showcase and Chez Papillon. He left the turntables behind when he moved to the USA for studies before settling in New York, where he immersed himself in the city’s underground dance music scene. Those musical encounters nurtured in him a greater appreciation for the cyclical and industrial patterns of techno but at the heart of his songwriting lies a strong, deep-rooted affection for expressive melodies and harmonies. With a musical identity significantly shaped by the two major music cities of Paris and New York, Otoria’s sound is distinctly cosmopolitan and a fresh addition to the world of electronic music.

Otoria’s SRNDR debut, “Reminiscence”, typifies his signature sound. Treading the line between progressive house and melodic techno, the strength of the track lies in its ability to be both energetic yet beautifully contemplative. Featuring arpeggiator bassline and synths that drive it forward without being overly confrontational, and restrained melodic leads that, by their accordion-esque quality give the track a distinctly French flavour, “Reminiscence” is bound to evoke melancholia and deep emotions.

Dantian presents 'Words Just Don't Feel Like Enough', a melodic house stunner that features warm, percussive beats and a deep, unassuming bassline. Driven by a constant arpeggiated topline that evolves in character and texture along with the ebb and flow of the track's arrangement, the track will surely appeal to those who enjoy strong, emotive sounds that tell a story.

Dantian’s passion for music began as a child growing up in Zimbabwe. Through soulful African music and culture, he saw how spirituality, community and music were intrinsically connected. Later, he moved to Southern California where he was introduced to electronic music and DJing, becoming so obsessed that he dragged his desktop computer to house parties, mixing using a mouse and keyboard. He soon became enamoured with music production and enjoyed the sense of empowerment that came with being able to fully express himself and his creative visions. He also organised events locally and inspired by the integration of music and spirituality at transformational music festivals, became drawn to underground house and techno music and its potential to evoke emotionally transformative experiences. His love for music has always been firmly rooted in its ability to deeply connect us with our selves, and bring people together. His productions allude to that sense of spirituality and the universal truth, characterised by beautiful, ethereal melodies and hypnotic rhythms.

Evan De Novellis is an Italian DJ and producer whose passion lies in crafting beautifully emotive explorations within the genre of melodic techno. His first exposure to electronic music came courtesy of the ambient explorations of Moby, inspiring in him an appreciation for music that evokes a sense of melancholy.  He then fell for techno inspired by the works of artists such as Paul Kalkbrenner, Stephan Bodzin and Sam Paganini. De Novellis started producing at the age of 17 and has been making music since, with a sound that blurs the line between progressive house and techno, and is typified by dark, energetic sounds and melodies that stir both the senses and emotions.

De Novellis joins the SRNDR family with a trilogy of introspective works that typify his signature emotive and melodic techno sound. Collectively, the tracks provide an insight into his inner workings and a narrative of his life. “Tension”, the first of the releases, tells the story of a muddled mind affected by stress and anxiety. Driven by a strong, relentless bassline and a simple but memorably haunting topline, the track recreates the sense of uncertainty and tension through atmospheric synths created from the Moog Grandmother.

Lui Mafuta presents This Ain’t Jazz, a boundary-pushing new EP that fuses live musicianship
with electronic sensibility - an exploration of jazz influence through a deeply personal and
collaborative lens. 

The release is available on digital platforms and as a limited vinyl edition.

At the heart of This ain’t Jazz is a long gestating idea: to bridge electronic music with an
organic, band oriented aesthetic. Lui Mafuta reunited with four longtime friends and
collaborators: Paul Janoschka, Felix Roos, Jonas Esser and Benedikt Jäckle - who all studied
music together in Mannheim before scattering across the globe. Under the loose collective
named Weiller, they came together once again to create a sound that lives between genres.

The EP is a globe spanning production. Piano was recorded on Paul Janoschka’s Steinway in
his Frankfurt apartment; trumpet and clarinet were tracked in a rural French studio with Felix
Roos; drums came from New York via Jonas Esser; and saxophone was laid down in Lui’s own
studio in Mannheim alongside Benedikt Jäckle. All elements were finally assembled and
shaped into a cohesive vision back in Mannheim.

“There’s less synth work on this one than usual,” Lui says. “Most of the textures come from
the instruments themselves and a lot of sample mangling. I wanted it to feel raw, human and
alive.”
Despite its title, This Ain’t Jazz is a love letter to jazz’s influence. “I called it that just to be
safe,” Lui jokes. “It isn’t jazz but it’s coming from that space.” The project also serves as a
reconnection to his roots: two of the four featured musicians are teenage friends from his
earliest days making music.
